Operation 'Impulsus' registers over 500 approaches and nine arrests in Belém

Launched by Segup and other state and municipal security agencies, the Operation carried out preventive and ostensive actions over the weekend

More than 70 commercial establishments were inspected

The State Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), in partnership with other agencies from the state and municipal security systems, concluded on the morning of this Sunday (13) the ostensive and preventive actions carried out under the "Operation Impulsus" in Belém. In two days of activities, agents conducted 596 approaches and nine arrests, and inspected 78 commercial establishments.

The Operation aims to inhibit crime with preventive activities and guidance to the population, to ensure greater tranquility and safety, informed the State Secretary for Public Security and Social Defense, Ualame Machado.

“We started this Operation with the aim of reinforcing the security actions that have already been taking place in the city, focusing on increasing the volume and presence of police on the streets to maintain the safety of all Belém residents, especially on weekends, when it is natural for everyone to seek entertainment. Thus, we can ensure a peaceful leisure time, with greater oversight also in commercial establishments, showing that we are present, so that everyone has a greater perception of safety, and to maintain social order in the city,” emphasized the head of Segup.

The actions began on Friday (12). Agents concentrated in Praça Amazonas.

Productivity - The “Operation Impulsus” was launched last Friday (13) and concluded on the morning of this Sunday (14), with 78 commercial establishments inspected. Of these, 13 were closed and 12 notified. The agents approached pedestrians and drivers of motorcycles, cars, and bicycles. There was the seizure of 1.812 kilograms of drugs, 10 cell phones, 14 bladed weapons, and two firearms. The agents also recovered five vehicles.

The ostensive presence of the Integrated Public Security System, with more than 360 agents, as well as the planned simultaneous and integrated actions in the main neighborhoods of Belém, were the highlights of the Operation.

Participating in “Impulsus” were agents from the Civil, Military, and Scientific Police, the Military Fire Brigade, the State Traffic Department (Detran), the State Secretariat for Penitentiary Administration (Seap), the Air Security Group (Graesp), the Municipal Secretariat for Security, Public Order, and Mobility, and the Municipal Guard of Belém.
