This Saturday morning (13), in Marabá, was marked by the Ruralist Cavalcade, an event that officially opens the 37th Marabá Agricultural Exhibition (Expoama). The Governor of the State, Helder Barbalho, participated in the program alongside horsemen and groups, covering about ten kilometers through the streets of the city, until the Agricultural Exhibition Park, where the celebration continued with the traditional "garlic burning," held for the first time at the fair.

"It is a satisfaction to be able to participate once again in the cavalcade, which signifies the opening of the agricultural exhibition of Marabá. This region is so powerful for the agribusiness of Pará and symbolizes the wealth of rural production, which puts Pará in the spotlight for all of Brazil, ensuring job creation, income, and food on people's tables. It is an important celebration that shows that Pará is a reference for agribusiness throughout the country," said the governor.

The cavalcade, promoted by the Union and the Association of Rural Producers of Marabá, gathered hundreds of residents who followed the passage of the groups through the main streets of the city. Among them was David Cotrim, a welder, who recorded the moment on his cell phone.
"It is the first time I see this. Congratulations to those who organize it. It is new to me. People really like it. We hear good things about it. Almost all regions of Pará have fairs," he said.

For Élcio Queiroz, a member of the Colombo group, the event represents tradition and cultural identity. "It is a traditional culture of the population, and we follow it as a sport. It is gratifying; we really enjoy this event, and we cannot let this tradition die," he emphasized.

The Expoama, which in 2024 generated around R$ 100 million and brought together more than 200,000 people, continues this year with programming from September 16 to 21 at the Exhibition Park. In addition to musical shows, rodeos, and a children's park, the public will be able to visit booths, learn about new machines, implements, vehicles, solar energy, and technological solutions for agribusiness.
