Police apprehends shooter and mastermind behind businessman’s murder in Castanhal
Men are already at the disposal of Justice in the state’s northeast
The Civil Police of Pará carried out an integrated operation that resulted in the arrest of two men on Thursday (11), identified as the shooter and one of them as the mastermind behind the murder of a businessman in Castanhal.
Agents from the Homicide Division of Castanhal, linked to the Regional Superintendence of the Salgado Zone; from the Investigation Support Nucleus (NAI) of Castanhal, linked to the Police Intelligence Nucleus (NIP); with direct support from the local police stations participated.
The crime occurred on the morning of September 5, when the victim, identified as Estevão Neves Pinto, was dropping his daughters off at school. "After continuous investigations, a task force located and arrested the shooter in the city of Santa Maria do Pará, during an interception operation, at the moment the suspect was trying to flee to the state of São Paulo," said delegate Pedro Rocha, head of the Homicide Division of Castanhal.
The mastermind of the crime, who is the victim's business partner, was also arrested. "He would have actively participated in the planning, logistics, and execution of the murder. He was found and arrested in Castanhal, and our investigations continue to locate and arrest other possible individuals involved in the homicide that generated significant repercussions in the city," the delegate stated.
The arrested individuals will be charged with qualified homicide and were taken to the police station, where they underwent standard procedures, and are at the disposal of the Judiciary.
