Governor Helder Barbalho delivered the project, along with state and municipal authorities

The government of Pará, through the Secretary of Agricultural Development and Fisheries (Sedap), in partnership with the Santarém City Hall, delivered, this Thursday (11), the potable water supply project for the Cipoal II community, in the Santarém highland region. The project had been awaited for decades by the local population.

Governor Helder Barbalho, who participated in the ceremony along with state and municipal authorities, emphasized the importance of providing water supply to 420 homes in the community. "There are more than 6,600 meters of water network. With this structure, it was necessary to source water at a depth of 180 meters. But the important thing is that the problem is solved. There is water at the tap, for planting, so that people can have a better quality of life," he highlighted.

Barber Leonardo Ferreira Maia celebrated the improvement in water supply

Leonardo Ferreira Maia, who is a barber in the region, says that the delivery is very important, as the water supply often failed during his routine work. "With this well that will be inaugurated now, it will be much easier for us and for the customers of the barbershop. It is very gratifying to see the government working for the community," he stressed.

Housewife Maria Alice Sabrina Pereira da Silva said that, before, the tap water was always weak

Housewife Maria Alice Sabrina Pereira da Silva also recalled that the tap water was always weak and sometimes didn't even drip. "This delivery improves a lot, not just for me, but for everyone in the community," she stated.

The supply system uses cutting-edge technologies to ensure water purity, going through rigorous filtration and treatment processes. Cipoal II gains a structure composed of a deep tubular well, 180 meters deep; a 15 HP submersible pump; an elevated structure in precast concrete for an 80,000-liter reservoir; capacity to serve 420 residences; installation of 6,668 meters of pipeline to serve the homes and installation of equipment for treating groundwater.

Now, the community has 6,668 meters of water pipeline

The project represents an investment of R$ 952,455.17. The funds were requested by federal deputy Henderson Pinto (MDB) and include municipal counterpart funding.
