Focusing on enhancing the quality of education and directly benefiting students in the public network, the State government, through the State Department of Education (Seduc), in partnership with the Ministry of Education (MEC), delivered, this Thursday (11), the Innovation Network for Hybrid Education (RIEH) in Pará. In total, four units of the RIEH were delivered in Belém, Marabá, Santarém, and Breves, on the island of Marajó, which will now integrate the state education network, strengthening the hybrid and innovative education project in Pará.

In the capital, the ceremony took place at the Center for Training of Basic Attention Professionals of the State of Pará (Cefor), located at the Institute of Education of the State of Pará (IEEP), with the presence of the Minister of Education, Camilo Santana, and the Secretary of State for Education, Ricardo Sefer.

“This type of unit is essential to enhance teaching in Brazil. It is an action that complements the training of students, not only in the State of Pará but throughout the country,” he emphasized.

The Secretary of State for Education, Ricardo Sefer, highlighted the relevance of the network for the entire school community in Pará. “I speak here on behalf of Governor Helder Barbalho and, above all, on behalf of our army of education professionals in Pará. There are 40,000 professionals and more than 540,000 students. I thank Minister Camilo Santana for the federal government's sensitivity to look at the peculiarities of the Amazon. This initiative is enchanting, promising, and is already mobilizing our teams with energy and dedication to develop training and actions based on technology. It is a human and caring look at education in our state,” he noted.

The Innovation Centers are equipped with studios featuring robotic cameras, lighting kits, editing islands, and various technologies. Additionally, the network provides a Virtual Learning Environment (AVA) integrated with a Digital Repository of Educational Resources, expanding pedagogical possibilities and the sharing of content between schools and states.

The RIEH is a partnership between the MEC and the Center of Excellence in Social Technologies at the Federal University of Alagoas (NEES/UFAL) and is already present in 24 federative units. The goal is to implement a hybrid education model in Brazil, with federal investments of over R$ 47 million.

Coordinator of Applied Technology in Education (CTAE) of Seduc, Professor Jó Helder Vasconcelos, at the ceremony

The coordinator of Applied Technology in Education (CTAE) of Seduc, Professor Jó Helder Vasconcelos, explained that the centers will allow the production of contextualized and regionalized content, valuing the cultural diversity of Pará.

“The studios at Cefor were implemented to produce content for teachers, but they will also serve the student community. The idea is to diversify and regionalize production, including content made by teachers, students, and local schools. This values our indigenous, quilombola, and other cultures, and promotes the contextualization of teaching, strengthening pedagogical support and the recomposition of learning,” he explains.

Advancement in pedagogical use

Pará joined the RIEH in December 2022 and now has four centers, which will serve about 300,000 students

Professor Paulo Davi, who works in the area of educational informatics, emphasized that the RIEH represents an advancement in the pedagogical use of technologies and in the integral formation of students.

“These centers will enable teachers to creatively explore technological tools aligned with the curriculum, creating videos, podcasts, and other digital materials. This increases student engagement and contributes to the development of essential skills, bringing the school closer to the technological reality they already experience in their daily lives,” he emphasizes.

Pará joined the RIEH in December 2022 and now has four centers in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, and in the municipalities of Santarém, Marabá, and Breves, which will gradually contribute to serving about 300,000 students, strengthen collaborative learning networks, and support the recomposition of learning and the development of competencies of the BNCC and the formative itineraries.
