With the support of the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Seel), four teams from Pará stood out in the 5th Northern Stage of the Brazilian 3x3 Basketball Championship, held from August 29 to 31 at the Ninimberg Guerra gym in Manaus (AM). The good performance secured the State four spots in the Final Stage of the tournament, which will take place from November 28 to 30 in Belo Horizonte (MG), and will determine the national champions of the 2025 season. The competition is organized by the Brazilian Basketball Confederation (CBB).

Pará reached the podium in different categories. In the men's adult category, the team from the General and Endovascular Neurosurgery Institute of Pará (INGEP) won the title undefeated, defeating the also Pará team Jovens Panthers – JP8 in the final. Among women, the Unama team was the champion in the under-23 category. In the under-18 category, the athletes from KP10 Basketball PA secured the silver medal.

With these results, INGEP, Jovens Panthers, Unama, and KP10 Basketball PA will represent Pará in the national phase, consolidating the State as one of the main forces in the North in the modality.

The regional stage featured the participation of 68 teams, distributed across the under-18, under-23, and adult categories, in both female and male divisions. Teams from six states in the North – Amazonas, Acre, Amapá, Pará, Rondônia, and Roraima – competed in the tournament.

One of the standout names was young athlete Ana Clara, 18 years old, silver medalist in the under-18 category and fourth place in the under-23 category. “It was a tough tournament, at a high level, with the best teams from the North. However, my team managed to perform well in both the under-18 and under-23 categories. We are very happy with the result. The support from Seel was essential for us to travel and compete on equal terms with the other teams. Representing Pará and winning a medal is a unique experience,” highlighted the player.

The Secretary of Sports and Leisure, Cássio Andrade, emphasized the significance of the achievements for sports in Pará. “3x3 basketball is an Olympic modality that has been growing a lot in Brazil, and seeing Pará among the leading states is a great source of pride. This is the result of investment, planning, and, above all, the talent of our athletes. Our goal is to ensure more and more opportunities for young people from Pará to shine in national and international competitions,” he stated.

For Professor Conegundes, head of the Pará delegation, the results reflect the evolution of the modality in the State. “We managed to qualify four teams for the national stage and we were the state that secured the most spots. 3x3 basketball in Pará is growing a lot, with new projects emerging. Soon we will have athletes serving the Brazilian national team and winning even more relevant titles,” he assessed.

In addition to securing the highest number of spots among the states in the region, the performance of INGEP and athletes like Ana Clara strengthens 3x3 basketball in Pará, which now aims for the national podium in Belo Horizonte.
