Military Police celebrates advances in combating violent crimes against financial institutions
It has been two years without the registration of violent crimes against banks and credit cooperatives, a result of the State's investments in the Bope troop and other security agencies
The Military Police celebrates a milestone in public safety this September, after two years without the registration of violent crimes against financial institutions in the Pará territory. The advancement is a direct result of the strategic and intensive work of the Special Police Operations Battalion (Bope) and other Public Security institutions in Pará, which stand out in combating this type of crime.
Historically, Pará faced various occurrences of attacks on banks and credit cooperatives, with actions that put the lives of civilians and public agents at risk. In light of this scenario, Bope promoted a process of tactical restructuring, presenting new confrontation strategies and training troops for more efficient action.

Efficiency - According to the commander of Bope, Major PM Elton Rocha, the change in posture and the investment of the state government in training were fundamental for the results. "Perseverance and efficiency in the field of action have brought clear reflections in the state statistics, which showed us that we are on the right track," he emphasized.

The action of Bope was guided by two main lines: preparation and field action. In preparation, instructions and training were promoted to various troops subordinate to the General Command of the Military Police of Pará, in addition to educational actions aimed at civil society. In field action, the operations involved the integrated participation of all Bope specialties.
Specialized Groups
- Rural Environment Patrol Group (GPAR) - responsible for the search and capture of criminals in hard-to-reach areas. These are police officers who confront criminals who previously acted against the population in front of bank branches;
- Special Tactical Action Group (Gate) - operates in urban areas, developing tactical operations and support for the high command in high-complexity field actions;
- Bomb Squad (ECB) - specialized in the sweeping, neutralization, and collection of explosive devices, as well as the preservation of evidence for the Scientific Police, and
- Precision Police Shooter (APP) - known as "snipers", these agents operate in any type of terrain, ensuring safety and neutralization of threats with surgical precision.

Evolution - Despite the historic milestone, Bope emphasizes that the work does not stop. The troop continues to evolve constantly, with studies and training aimed at improving tactics, technologies, and armaments.
"Our goal is to maintain social peace in the State. It is not just about combating crime, but about preventing it and ensuring that it does not happen again," highlighted the General Commander of the Military Police of Pará, Colonel Sérgio Neves.
