Show celebrates conductor Waldemar Henrique and enchants audience at Theatro da Paz
Celebration of the 120 years of the Pará composer (1905/1995) featured singers Carolina Morel and Calebe Faria and pianist José Sacramento
The audience filled Theatro da Paz on the night of this Thursday, the 5th, to watch the show "Everything is Yours - A Celebration of Waldemar Henrique," in homage to the 120 years of the Pará conductor and composer, featuring interpreters Carolina Morel and Calebe Faria, members of the Choir of the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro, and the award-winning pianist José Sacramento. The artists together form the Trio Oré, and were accompanied by the solo dancers of the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro.
For Calebe Faria and the entire team, it is an honor and a reason for celebration to perform at Theatro da Paz with works by Waldemar Henrique. "It is a joy and also a surprise because we prepared this program recently and I have always wanted to come here to Theatro da Paz, one of the most beautiful in Brazil, and Waldemar's work has been part of my journey from the beginning. Seeing the visceral relationship he had with this Theater encouraged us to come here," he details.
The show celebrates conductor Waldemar Henrique and presented different rhythms and songs known to the audience that speak of the Amazon, including "Foi Boto, Sinhá!"; "Cobra Grande", "Tamba-Tajá", "Matintaperêra", "Uirapuru", "Curupira", "Manha-Nungára", "Nayá" and "Japiim". The repertoire also included Carimbó and the songs "Cantiga", "Exaltação", "Fiz da vida uma canção" and "Tema da flor".
Administrator Alini Wanderley was enchanted by the performance and said she has always been excited about the programs offered by Theatro da Paz. "I thought it was incredible, just the experience of being able to watch a show made in honor of Waldemar Henrique, who is one of our composers, and the dancers, everything was amazing. Some songs I already knew and I was amazed by the whole show."
The action is a partnership of the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Culture (Secult), and the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro, Theatro da Paz, and the Pará Academy of Music (APM) and is part of the XXIV Opera Festival of Theatro da Paz.
