The Amazon Bioeconomy and Innovation Park, located in Porto Futuro II, in Belém, received on Wednesday (3) the visit of representatives from the Executive Committee of the Bioeconomy Plan of the State of Pará. The visit allowed them to monitor the progress of the construction of the facilities and the equipment of the laboratory-factory, intended for future users of the space, for the development of bioeconomy in the State.

The visit was coordinated by the State Secretariat for the Environment, Climate and Sustainability (Semas), through the Deputy Secretariat of Bioeconomy (Sabio). The committee members got to know the space that will be used during their operations within the action plan of the State Bioeconomy Plan of Pará (PlanBio).

The coordinator of Bionegotiation at Semas, Jéssica Brilhante, emphasized that "all committee members have projects within the action plan of PlanBio, which can be executed within the Bioeconomy Park. It is important for them to know the space and everything that Pará is making available for the benefit of all Pará residents, especially Indigenous Peoples, Quilombolas, and Traditional Communities (PIQCTs) and family farmers."

Business - Integrated with the future Amazon Bioeconomy and Innovation Park, the Sociobioeconomy Center of Pará will have a structure aimed at supporting community businesses linked to bioeconomy. In addition to the center, the space will house startups, community enterprises, industries, and research institutions, offering coworking spaces, laboratories for product development, and specialized services in mentoring, training, incubation, and acceleration.

Marcel do Nascimento Botelho, president of the Amazon Foundation for Support of Studies and Research (Fapespa), reported that the visit was "an experience that brought a lot of perspective for the future, because we can see a dream of the State of Pará materialized, which will combine traditional knowledge with science, technology, and innovation. It is the possibility of bringing academia and society together for sustainable economic development. Pará will advance significantly in the coming years."

The participants learned about all the thematic axes that will guide the operation of the Park, which aims to function as a permanent showcase of innovative Amazon, promoting connections between investors, researchers, governments, and traditional populations.

Showcase - "We will be able to bring local entrepreneurs and those working with community-based tourism to experience this whole moment. It will be a great showcase for everyone visiting Belém, so they can get to know all our sociobioeconomy, to further promote these entrepreneurs who care for the forest. It is a pleasure to be contributing alongside Semas in this project, so that Pará can advance even further," emphasized Lucas Vieira, Deputy Secretary of Tourism of Pará.

The Bioeconomy Park consolidates the commitment of the Government of Pará to a just transition, valuing environmental assets and building permanent legacies for the population.

"In the face of climate change, encouraging bioeconomy is a response to mitigating its effects. Seeing the Park is exciting; knowing that this hub of sociobioeconomy is in the process of being delivered to serve all actors, all agents, traditional communities, seed producers, and all products linked to bioeconomy. Semas, traditional peoples, and all involved deserve congratulations for this achievement," highlighted Augusto Miranda, tax auditor of the State Department of Finance (Sefa).
