Residents of the Terra Firme neighborhood in Belém received, this Tuesday (2), another important incentive for health and quality of life through new prescription glasses delivered free of charge by the State Government. The action benefited 1,514 people who were attended to in eye consultations and exams conducted during the state project 'Por Todas Elas', which took place on July 16, at the Usina da Paz in the neighborhood.

During the event, the governor of Pará, Helder Barbalho, reinforced the importance of the new vision equipment for the families in the neighborhood.

“Today we are continuing the 'Programa Por Todas Elas', which takes care of people, which looks after women and families. Being able to guarantee the delivery of glasses ensures these people a better quality of life, starting from better vision. This is the goal and mission of the Government, to care and understand that the main work is to care for people,” said Helder.

The State's vice-governor, idealizer and coordinator of the state program for the care and appreciation of Pará women, Hana Ghassan, pointed out that the main objective of the actions is to bring important services and care closer to the population.

“Today is a special moment with the delivery of these glasses, which will improve the lives, the daily lives of people. We want our women and their families to be cared for, because every woman should feel this way. I hope these new glasses bring joy and prosperity,” declared vice-governor Hana.

Unique opportunity - Teacher Nazaré Barbosa was one of the beneficiaries of new glasses and stated that the service provided through the 'Por Todas Elas' program was a unique opportunity in her life. “It was very important for me. I am unemployed and cannot afford new glasses and private consultations. I congratulate the Government for looking after the needy population that needs it the most. I have always had vision problems and needed to update my glasses. Through this action, I managed to do so, and now it will help me a lot,” celebrated the resident of the Terra Firme neighborhood.

University student Jennyffer Luana shared that the new equipment will be very useful for completing her final course project (TCC). “I am about to graduate, and I will be spending much more time in front of the computer screen to produce my TCC, so these glasses will give me an extra boost, as I was already having difficulties seeing. I am from Terra Firme and know the difficulties we have in seeking services outside the neighborhood. This action was very important because it brought the services into our neighborhood.”

Meanwhile, seamstress Maria Ney celebrated, as she will now be able to work with more comfort and safety. “I was already having difficulties even seeing the thread and needles. My glasses were outdated, and I had many headaches. I thank God every day for this opportunity. Now, thank God, I am feeling much better.”

Por Todas Elas - Created in 2024, the 'Por Todas Elas' program has already provided over 160,000 services throughout Pará, through the offering of more than 30 types of free services in health, citizenship, and leisure. The state initiative aims, in addition to ensuring essential services for Pará women and their families, to strengthen the debate on women's participation as protagonists in the construction of rights and in society.

“Today is a very special day because we are ensuring more quality of life for the population of Terra Firme. The delivery of these glasses represents health, care, dignity, and opportunities for these people. Our commitment is to increasingly expand access to essential services so that women, their families, and the entire community can live with more comfort and well-being,” pointed out the State Secretary of Articulation and Citizenship, Elieth Braga.

Service - People who were attended to in the action that took place in the Terra Firme neighborhood and could not attend the delivery this Tuesday (02) can, starting this Wednesday (03), pick up the glasses directly at the Usina da Paz in the neighborhood, located at Passagem Belo Horizonte, No. 56 - between Av. Perimetral and Passagem do Arame. It is necessary to present an official identification document.

In case of possible problems with the delivered glasses, interested parties should also seek the Usina da Paz Terra Firme to request the necessary corrections.
