State programming encourages drug use prevention at UsiPaz Icuí-Guajará
The event is part of the Pará Week for Prevention and Combat Against Drugs, which offers educational actions, document issuance, consumer assistance, and monitoring of violated rights

The Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Justice (Seju), promoted this Saturday (30), in Ananindeua (Metropolitan Region of Belém), the third day of the programming of the Pará Week for Prevention and Combat Against Drug Use. With the theme "Sports, health, and citizenship", the action took place at the Usina da Paz Icuí-Guajará, in partnership with the State Secretariats of Citizenship Articulation (Seac), Sports and Leisure (Seel), and Public Health (Sespa), Civil Police, and Parápaz Foundation.
There were educational actions, document issuance, consumer assistance, and monitoring of violated rights, as well as cultural and sports presentations, and an exhibition of products from solidarity fairs.

"I want to thank the collaboration of all institutions in this action because the work of drug prevention requires this joint effort. Combating drugs does not only involve repression. Before getting to that, we work on awareness and dialogue with young people, parents, families, and the entire network that the government reaches," said the head of Seju, Evandro Garla.

Information and community - Resident of Icuí-Guajará, Jussane Vilhena sought a new identity card. "It is important to have this opportunity to get informed, especially for the younger ones. I didn't know, for example, that electronic cigarettes were so harmful to health," said Jussane.
The event emphasized the importance of sports and culture in preventing drug use. Regarding the practice of physical activities, the karate teacher at UsiPaz Icuí-Guajará, Sayssy Fayal, said that, "besides the issue of physical health, they also work on socialization, the sense of community, and improve focus to stay away from the wrong things."

The Pará Week for Prevention and Combat Against Drug Use continues until September 2 (Tuesday), with the theme "Drugs, human rights, and new perspectives", aiming to broaden the debate on the impacts of psychoactive substance use and the importance of prevention, especially among children and youth.
