Show 'Everything Here is Yours' Celebrates the Work of Pará Conductor Waldemar Henrique
With free admission, the concert is a partnership between TP and the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro, and is part of the programming of the XXIV Opera Festival of Theatro da Paz
Next Thursday (4), Theatro da Paz, in Belém, will have a memorable night. At 8 PM, the centennial stage will host the show “Everything Here is Yours - A Celebration of Waldemar Henrique”, in homage to the 120 years of the Pará conductor and composer, featuring singers Carolina Morel and Calebe Faria, the youngest members of the Choir of the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro. They will be accompanied by the award-winning pianist José Sacramento, with whom they form the Trio Oré. The show will also feature the participation of four solo dancers from the Theater and is part of the programming of the XXIV Opera Festival of Theatro da Paz.

The program is a celebration of conductor Waldemar Henrique (1905-1995), featuring different rhythms, including Choro, and songs that speak of the Amazon through its legends, among which are "Foi Boto, Sinhá!"; "Cobra Grande", "Tamba-Tajá", "Matintaperêra", "Uirapuru", "Curupira", "Manha-Nungára", "Nayá" and "Japiim". Another part of the repertoire will include Carimbó and other songs, such as "Cantiga", "Exaltação", "I Made a Song of Life" and "Theme of the Flower".
Emotion - The musical work of Trio Oré values Brazil and aims to connect with the audience through the richness of songs in the national language. For baritone Calebe Faria, the expectation of performing at Theatro da Paz, the home of conductor Waldemar Henrique, is a strong emotion. “Since I started singing, I have always wanted to perform at Theatro da Paz, one of the most beautiful in Brazil. I was very happy with this bridge between the two theaters and with this program because Waldemar Henrique is at the foundation of Brazilian lyrical singing,” says the singer.
He also highlights the importance of the Pará composer’s songs for the curriculum of Brazilian musicians. “Having the conductor's songs in our repertoire, celebrating him at the Theater where he lived, is a very great emotion. We are very excited,” says the baritone.
Nandressa Nunes, Production Director of the Opera Festival of Theatro da Paz, explains that this is just the first of many partnerships with the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro, aimed at promoting sustainability among various festivals across the country. “The partnership continues to create an increasingly sustainable festival, where production exchanges can occur, which reduces production costs from various places, especially when done through co-production, as we have been doing in the lyrical corridor of the North,” informs the director.
The show is a partnership of the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Culture (Secult), and the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro, Theatro da Paz, and the Pará Academy of Music (APM). Admission is free, and tickets can be picked up starting at 9 AM on September 4, through the Ticket Fácil website (ticketfacil.com.br) or two hours before the show at the box office of Theatro da Paz (two tickets per person).
Public Success - The XXIV Opera Festival of Theatro da Paz is held by the Government of Pará, through Secult, in partnership with Theatro da Paz and the Pará Academy of Music. Since 2002, the Festival has presented works such as "Salomé", "La Bohème", "Suor Angelica", "Gianni Schicchi", "The Magic Flute" and "The Pearl Fishers", gathering more than 144,000 spectators and establishing itself as one of the main lyrical events in Brazil.
The central stage of the Festival, Theatro da Paz, inaugurated in 1878 during the Rubber Cycle, is considered the first opera theater in the Amazon and one of the oldest still in operation in Brazil. Together with Teatro Amazonas in Manaus (AM), it is part of the group of Amazon Theaters competing for the title of UNESCO World Heritage (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).
