Santa Casa do Pará achieves international Qmentum certification at Platinum level
The hospital is the 2nd public one in Brazil with 100% SUS management to achieve recognition that attests to international standards of quality and safety in care

The Santa Casa de Misericórdia do Pará Foundation has achieved the international Qmentum certification at the Platinum level, becoming the second public hospital in Brazil with 100% SUS management to attain this recognition. The accreditation attests that the institution's care and management processes are aligned with international standards of excellence, reinforcing the commitment to patient safety and quality of care.
The president of Santa Casa, Bruno Carmona, highlighted that this achievement is the result of continuous work to qualify assistance. “This accomplishment is the result of two years of intense work in training and capacity building. After obtaining the certification from the National Accreditation Organization (ONA) at the Excellence Level — ONA 3 — we challenged ourselves to seek recognition with international validity. The chosen Canadian methodology requires even more maturity in care management, clinical and safety protocols, in addition to demonstrating consistent cycles of improvement. Today, all our care activities meet international standards,” he celebrated.
Commitment to humanized care
More than a seal, the Qmentum certification confirms Santa Casa's daily commitment to providing humanized, safe, and excellent assistance to the population of Pará and the Northern Region. The recognition values the integration between professionals and sectors, promoting a patient-centered approach. “Qmentum values multiprofessional integration and patient-centered care, recognizing the importance of teams that work collaboratively and coordinated to provide the best possible experience. This focus generates real value for the institution and adds to the patient's journey with us, promoting safety, comfort, and trust at every stage of care,” explained Santa Casa's Quality Manager, Camila Negrão.

Rigorous evaluation and international standard
The Qmentum accreditation process was conducted in early August, over three days, by four external evaluators. The team analyzed risk management, safety protocols, clinical quality, professional training, and performance indicators.
In the first evaluation, Santa Casa achieved the Platinum level, which recognizes institutions that have implemented the foundations of quality and safety, focusing on patient-centered care and providing services consistently and standardized.

Recognition on the eve of COP30 - With more than 514 active beds and operating 100% under the Unified Health System (SUS), Santa Casa is maintained by the Government of Pará and is a reference in hospital assistance.

“This achievement comes just before COP30, when Belém and Pará will be at the center of global attention. It is a great source of pride to present a 100% SUS hospital, funded and maintained by the State Government, operating under international standards of quality and safety,” emphasized President Bruno Carmona.
