Santa Rosa Hospital concludes "Golden August" with educational action
Activities aimed to raise awareness among mothers about the importance of breastfeeding in the first months of the newborn's life

The Regional Hospital of Baixo Tocantins Santa Rosa, in Abaetetuba, concluded, this Friday (29), the programming linked to the Golden August campaign. An educational action, organized by the Humanization Sector and supported by nursing students from Esamaz College, was held to clarify to patients and companions the importance of breastfeeding.
The activities took place on the 26th and 29th and included playful and interactive actions, conveying information related to the theme to the users of the hospital unit. During the program, topics such as: Myths and truths about breastfeeding, focusing on common doubts that may cause insecurity among mothers; the importance of breast milk for the physical and emotional development of the baby, highlighting its nutritional and immunological benefits; the strengthening of the bond between mother and baby through breastfeeding, essential for the well-being of both; and the meaning of Golden August, where the golden color represents the "gold standard" of breast milk quality, considered the most complete and essential food for the first months of life.
In addition, pregnant women were able to ask questions about breastfeeding techniques, such as: the proper latch when breastfeeding; the most effective way for the child to connect to the mother's breast, among other topics addressed during the event.

Claudemir Guimarães, the general director of Santa Rosa Hospital, praised the event's execution and highlighted the importance of the action in the annual calendar of the unit. "It is important to emphasize that Golden August is a month dedicated to raising awareness and promoting breastfeeding, a crucial stage for the health of the baby and the mother. Overall, we are pleased with the participation of patients and their companions, as well as the involvement of health professionals, nursing students, and the entire hospital team," he emphasized.
