Sefa seizes hospital equipment and 25.6 tons of rebar
After identifying irregularities, the inspectors issued Terms of Seizure and Deposit amounting to R$ 15.5 thousand and R$ 20.6 thousand, respectively

During an inspection conducted by state revenue inspectors from the State Department of Finance (Sefa) on 28/08, 34 units of hospital equipment and materials were seized, including transducers, ultrasound machines, vacuum cleaners, and other medical items, valued at R$ 159,128.10. The officials are assigned to the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Carajás, in the southeast of the state.
“During an inspection at the São Geraldo do Araguaia tax post, a vehicle transporting goods from Goiânia-GO to Marabá, Parauapebas, and Ananindeua in Pará was stopped. After document analysis and consultations with Sefa's systems, it was found that the invoices presented indicated operations as a loan of hospital equipment. However, no contract was presented to prove the ownership of the goods by the sender. Furthermore, the supplementary information on the invoices showed that the goods would remain with the recipients, characterizing, in practice, operations intended for final consumers, and not a loan,” explained the coordinator of the tax unit, Cicinato Oliveira.
A Term of Seizure and Deposit (TAD) was issued, resulting in a due amount of R$ 15,594.56, already considering ICMS and fines.

Rebar – In the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Gurupi, in Cachoeira do Piriá, northeastern Pará, 25.6 tons of iron rebar were seized on the same day.
“A truck from Maracanau (CE), destined for Belém (PA), delivered the fiscal documents. The inspection officials, upon analyzing the invoices and conducting research in the systems, saw that the recipient was a condominium in Belém, not an ICMS taxpayer, and noticed the non-payment of the ICMS differential rate (Difal), which is due in this type of operation,” said coordinator Gustavo Bozola.
The merchandise, valued at R$ 185,032.42, was retained, and a Term of Seizure and Deposit (TAD) was issued for the amount of R$ 20,695.89.
