Detran brings the Minicircuit Truck to the Usina da Paz da Terra Firme
Students from the 1st and 2nd grades of the Acácio Felício Sobral School participate in playful activities about safe traffic, sustainability, and citizenship

The Minicircuit Truck from the State Traffic Department (Detran) was at the Usina da Paz da Terra Firme in Belém on the morning of this Wednesday (27), bringing educational activities about safe behavior in traffic. The actions were directed at students from the 1st and 2nd grades of the Acácio Felício Sobral State Elementary School and for children participating in the activities developed at UsiPaz.
The project is part of Detran's Traffic Education Program, which aims to raise awareness among children and adolescents about the importance of road safety and a more sustainable traffic system through playful, educational, and interactive activities.

Detran's Education Agent, Leila do Carmo, explained how the action works. “Today we are working with the children from the community and also with the students from the school who participate in the activities at Usina da Paz. The main goal is to work on mobility, road safety, sustainability, and environmental preservation through playful activities and also the minicircuit,” she informed.
Good practices - During the program, in addition to the minicircuit that simulates everyday situations in traffic, students participated in activities focused on sustainability, educational cinema, interactive hopscotch, games, and workshops that reinforce, in a fun way, the importance of respecting traffic laws and good practices.

Pedro Santos, 9 years old, a 2nd-grade student, said he learned “about traffic lights and how to cross the street, always looking both ways. I also saw that we need to take care of the trash and throw it in the right place. When I get home, I will tell my parents everything I learned.”

1st-grade student Ana Luísa Alonso da Silva, 8 years old, also said that with the activities, “I learned about the signs and the colors of the traffic light: red, yellow, and green. Red means stop, yellow means pay attention, and green means go. I also learned that when crossing the crosswalk, we should make the 'signal of life'. I learned about trash and the importance of throwing everything in the right place, especially plastic, and not throwing it on the street.”

Knowledge - Teacher Josiane Madeira, who teaches 2nd grade, highlighted the importance of the activity for the children's development. “This phase is one of great development, and we always seek to provide information that goes beyond the walls of the school. Traffic is part of everyone's life; it is the daily coming and going, and teaching about rules, signs, and safety is essential. This experience is wonderful because they can observe the signs, the traffic lights, play, and at the same time learn to use safety equipment. I am sure that this learning will stay with them for life, and they will share it with their families,” she stated.

The Detran activities at the Usina da Paz da Terra Firme will continue until next Friday (29), with services provided in two shifts: from 9 am to 11 am, and from 1:30 pm to 3 pm.
The action is the result of a partnership between Detran and the Usinas da Paz, which aims to bring services, citizenship, and education to different communities in the Metropolitan Region of Belém and other municipalities. This union allows more children and young people to access educational content, contributing to the formation of more conscious citizens committed to safe and sustainable traffic.
The project reinforces Detran's commitment to traffic education from childhood, promoting experiences that contribute to the formation of more conscious citizens and, in the future, responsible drivers committed to safe traffic.
