The State University of Pará (Uepa) is accepting registrations for the XIII Scientific Integration Seminar (SIC), which will be held on August 27 and 28, 2025, in a hybrid format — with in-person activities at the Paulo Freire Auditorium in Belém and broadcasts on the institution's YouTube channel. Registration is free and can be done directly through the event's website, click here.

Undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, researchers, and technicians involved in scientific, technological, and innovation initiation projects can register. The event includes works from scholarship holders linked to programs such as PIBIC, PIBITI, and Forma Pará, as well as research developed in the institution's graduate programs. It is also open to the academic community in general, which can participate as listeners in the panels and lectures.

The Seminar's program features the general theme "Roots of the Future: Connections between Knowledge, Innovation, and Sustainability in the Amazon," and will include round tables, lectures, sessions for presenting works, and the awarding of the Uepa Young Researcher Award. One of the highlights is the opening panel on the 27th, which will bring together authorities from Uepa, the Amazon Foundation for Support to Studies and Research (Fapespa), the Secretary of Science, Technology, and Higher, Professional, and Technological Education (Sectet), and Sebrae.

Also included in the program is the lecture "Innovation Perspective for the Amazon: Vision of the Future," given by Professor Antônio de Lima Mesquita from the State University of Amazonas, and the round table "Horizons of Innovation: Transformative Technologies for a Sustainable Amazon," which will discuss the use of regenerative practices and advanced technologies for forest conservation.

Additionally, throughout the two days, the results of research from scholarship students in areas such as bioeconomy, health, education, technological innovation, and sustainability will be presented.

Among the works to be presented are research addressing everything from the potential of Amazonian medicinal plants and pharmacological bioprospecting to the use of innovative educational technologies, bioinputs for sustainable agriculture, and prototypes aimed at food production. The thematic diversity demonstrates how Uepa's scientific production is directly connected to the challenges of the Amazon region and contributes to practical solutions in different areas.

For Uepa, the Scientific Integration Seminar is a strategic space to strengthen academic research and the training of young scientists while promoting dialogues between traditional knowledge, science, and innovation. According to the Pro-Rectorate of Research and Graduate Studies (Propesp), the event is essential for connecting research projects to the Amazonian reality and stimulating the creation of innovative solutions for local and global challenges.
