Helder Barbalho guarantees broad participation at COP30 and states: "Belém is ready to welcome the world"
Governor of Pará ensures structure for all delegations and reinforces the prominence of the Amazon in the global climate agenda

The governor of Pará, Helder Barbalho, assured this Monday (25) that the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30) will have full participation from international delegations. According to him, all member countries of the conference have already been informed about the accommodation structure provided, and new confirmations are being registered daily. "It's not an entrance exam. There is no final registration deadline. Every day, new diplomatic representations are joining COP, and we are ready to welcome them with organization and structure," he stated.
The statement was made during the third edition of the Brazil Today Seminar, promoted by Esfera Brasil at the Tangará Palace in São Paulo. The event brought together authorities from the Three Powers, business leaders, and governors to discuss the paths of national development. In the panel "Between states and future: leadership in debate," Helder shared the discussion with Raquel Lyra (PE), Ronaldo Caiado (GO), Cláudio Castro (RJ), and Romeu Zema (MG), highlighting the role of the climate conference as a catalyst for change in the country.
Amazon as a showcase for solutions - When addressing the symbolism of hosting COP30 in the largest tropical forest on the planet, Helder argued that the event represents a unique opportunity for Brazil to lead the global climate agenda with legitimacy. According to him, it is time to reverse the historical logic and show that the country contributes with nature-based solutions, clean energy, and sustainable development.
"We have the authority to demand from developed countries because we are already doing our part. We are one of the cleanest energy matrices in the world, we have critical minerals, biofuels, biodiversity, and above all, the forest standing," he declared.

The governor of Pernambuco, Raquel Lyra, made a strong defense of the importance of COP30 as a milestone for Brazil. For her, the conference held in the Amazon, with active participation from Brazilians, has the potential to be historic. "This will be the best COP in history because it is made with us, in our territory. The world is watching, and it is up to us to lead this moment with commitment, clean energy, and consensus building. We cannot miss this opportunity," she emphasized.
Urban legacy and new vocation for Belém - Helder Barbalho highlighted that the conference is leaving a permanent legacy for the capital of Pará. Among the ongoing works are investments in sanitation, mobility, port requalification, waterways, and an increase in accommodation capacity.
More than 30,000 people have already been trained to work in services related to the event, and thousands of jobs are being generated in construction fronts. "COP is already changing people's lives. After November, the legacy continues: it is a transformation that will reposition Belém on the global map," he stated.

Green development and management results - The governor also highlighted the role of Pará in the new economy associated with the energy transition, with an emphasis on the production of nickel and copper, strategic minerals for the energy transition.
Commenting on the political scenario, the governor advocated overcoming polarization and stated that the country's focus should be on delivering concrete results. "In Pará, we set aside ideologies and prioritize people. We moved from 26th to 6th place in education, reduced homicides, and increased public investments. Management should be the center of the debate," he said.
