Graduation of the Technical Course in Oral Health at Sespa Celebrates Professional Qualification
About 30 graduates received their training certificate from the SUS Manuel Ayres Technical School, linked to the State Department of Public Health (Sespa)

The SUS Manuel Ayres Technical School, linked to the State Department of Public Health (Sespa), held the graduation ceremony for the 15th class of the Technical Course in Oral Health (TSB) on Friday afternoon (22) at the auditorium of its headquarters in Belém. A total of 30 graduates received their training certificate, marking another important step in the qualification of professionals working in the Unified Health System (SUS) in Pará.
Started in August 2023, the course included students from the municipalities of Ananindeua, Belém, Marituba, Marapanim, and Barcarena. The training aims to technically qualify health professionals to act consciously, integratively, and participatively in the consolidation of SUS public policies.

Under the current state administration, this is the seventh class to graduate, and the director of the SUS Technical School, Elizeth Braga, emphasized the importance of the qualification offered. She reported that the course consisted of 18 modules and a total workload of 1,390 hours, distributed among theory (720h), practice (320h), supervised internship (350h), and the preparation of a Final Course Project (TCC). One of the highlights of the class was the creation of a prevention booklet as a collective final product.
“There is a great demand from municipalities for this course, and we have already trained over 200 oral health technicians. This is the purpose of the school: to qualify the public servant who works within this machinery that is the SUS. After the course, the professional can work alongside the dentist, including in prevention and guidance procedures. They leave prepared to work with knowledge about public health policies and their interconnection with the health system. We already have 90% of the professionals who graduated working in the Unified Health System of their municipalities,” stated director Elizeth Braga.
For the state coordinator of Oral Health, Alessandra Amaral, the formation of another class represents progress for public health in the State. “We are happy with this 15th class formed by ETSUS. These technicians come to add to the oral health team, composed of dentists and attendants, enhancing prevention actions and promoting humanization in the care of the population of Pará.”

Among the graduates, 20-year-old Vitória Prado shared her happiness about her new professional path. “The course is good, with interesting subjects. Now I really intend to work in this area,” she said.
For Sespa, the graduation symbolizes the completion of a cycle and also the strengthening of the department's commitment to technical training and the continuous qualification of health professionals in Pará.
