The construction and paving works of the PA-151, on the 137-kilometer stretch between the municipalities of Breu Branco and Baião, are progressing rapidly in the Integration Region of Baixo Tocantins. The project by the Government of Pará, through the Secretary of Infrastructure and Logistics (Seinfra), includes services such as storm drainage, earthworks, implementation of sub-base and base, asphalting, and horizontal and vertical signaling, ensuring more safety and comfort for users.

Currently, the execution has already reached 75% physical progress. In addition to improving trafficability, the asphalt paving of the PA-151 is strategic for the State, as it connects the South and Southeast regions to the Transamazonian highway, ensuring direct access to municipalities such as Barcarena, Abaetetuba, Igarapé-Miri, Cametá, Mocajuba, Baião, and Moju. With over 250 kilometers in length, the highway, when fully paved, will strengthen the flow of agricultural production, facilitate the transport of goods, and expand access to essential services.

The Secretary of State for Infrastructure and Logistics, Adler Silveira, highlights the impact of the work. “The PA-151 is a fundamental axis for the integration of Pará. This work will transform the lives of thousands of families, facilitate the transport of cargo and passengers, and strengthen regional development. Our commitment is to deliver a quality road that meets the needs of the population and boosts the local economy,” pointed out the secretary.

Residents and rural producers are already noticing the change. For José Robson Ramos, a resident of Baião, the road will improve the lives of many residents. “We can already see a big change because in the winter it was very difficult to pass here. With this asphalt that is coming, it will really improve a lot. I thank the governor for what he is doing for us. We are already waiting for him to inaugurate the road here when the asphalt is ready,” said Mr. José.

The farmer Santana dos Passos, a rural producer from Breu Branco, also emphasizes the importance of the paving. “With a good road, with asphalt, it will improve a lot for us, both to sell our production and to leave home and do our shopping.”

With the advancement of the work fronts, the completion of the project will represent a milestone for mobility and economic growth in Baixo Tocantins, connecting communities, generating opportunities, and improving the quality of life for the entire region.
