In Dom Eliseu, Segup trains over 400 security agents and protection network for assistance in the Pró-Mulher Pará Program
The event expanded knowledge, techniques, and official security channels available to the population for activation, if necessary

In the month of awareness and combat against violence against women - "August Lilac" - the Government of Pará, through the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), continues to qualify agents and strengthen the actions of the Pró-Mulher Pará Program in various regions of the State. This time, from August 19 to 21, in partnership with the Court of Justice of Pará and the Municipal City Hall of Dom Eliseu, 410 public security agents and protection network members were trained in the municipality of Dom Eliseu, aiming to enhance and improve assistance during actions aimed at protecting women in the region.

The qualifications under the Pró-Mulher Pará Program were conducted by Segup, through the Directorate of Public Policies and Social Prevention (DPS) and the Integrated Operations Center (CIOp), at the Municipal Theater of Dom Eliseu, expanding knowledge, techniques, and official security channels available to the population for activation, if necessary.
The Pró-Mulher Pará has been present with effective actions in the State for three years, initially implemented in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, and being expanded to other municipalities and regions of Pará, assisting in the increasing reach of professionals who work on the front lines of assistance to women, ensuring prevention and more humanized care, highlights the head of Segup, Ualame Machado.
"For us, it is very important that the actions we work on in the Metropolitan Region of Belém are decentralized and continue to reach professionals who operate in all regions of Pará, such as in Dom Eliseu, because in this way, we expand and multiply the techniques used by qualified agents and the protection network, working diligently to change the reality of violence against women in our State. We are in a very significant month, and we reinforce the training so that the agent on the front line knows how to assist this victim in a humanized way, avoiding re-victimization, thus reducing the negative impact of this event," said the secretary.

The first two days, Tuesday (19) and Wednesday (20), were focused on training agents for specialized assistance, improving the conduct of services, focusing on actions that promote the guarantee of women's rights and assist in the prevention, reception, and referral of victims, in addition to massifying the public security reporting channels, so that the protection network and society become partners of public security.
The third and final day, Thursday (21), included a Workshop for Multipliers of Conversation Circles with Adolescents in the School Environment. Practical activities and dynamics were carried out, demonstrating to the present professionals how to work on the prevention and identification of possible abusive relationships and how the school community can also be a channel of help, as well as assisting in the understanding of what violence is and addressing it sporadically.
For the Director of DPS, Delegate Ariane Santos, the qualification of the entire assistance network is essential and a constant and necessary process to be expanded to all regions of Pará. "We know that domestic violence is a widespread social problem and affects women of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, religions, and social classes. Therefore, the qualification also aims to change the institutional culture and promote a victim-centered approach, free from prejudice and discrimination. Furthermore, in Dom Eliseu, the workshop held on the last day will allow for another pioneering work to be initiated in the school environment, where teachers will work with students on themes to raise awareness about what positive masculinity is and identify what can be violent behavior, in order to increasingly reduce practices that may occur," pointed out the delegate.
The training brought together agents from the Military and Civil Police, Military Fire Brigade, Court of Justice of Pará, Public Ministry of Pará, municipal Rights Guarantee Network, education professionals, staff from the Social Assistance Reference Center, Specialized Social Assistance Reference Center, and civil society.
For the head of the Criminal Court of the Court of Justice of the State of Pará in Dom Eliseu, Judge Cristiano Seglia, the 3 days of training were significant, being yet another action related to the month of August Lilac. "An event of this size is important to show the entire State that Dom Eliseu is effectively acting in confronting violence against women, seeking measures and solutions that go beyond simple repression, which, although it should happen, cannot be isolated. Having the training provided by the Segup team will undoubtedly be one of the milestones of the change we hope for, to make Dom Eliseu safer for the girls and women who live here," he stated.

For the judicial assistant, Ricardo Murillo Marques, the training of Pró-Mulher is fundamental for the work he performs in the criminal court of Dom Eliseu. "The training provided us with a valuable opportunity for learning and development, with positive impacts both professionally and personally. The skills acquired will enhance the execution of tasks at work, thus improving service to the jurisdiction, especially to women, victims of domestic violence. I firmly believe that the knowledge developed in the Pró-Mulher Course will facilitate the fight against domestic violence, women's empowerment, the promotion of gender equality, and the strengthening of the Dom Eliseu community's access to public policies aimed at the protection and well-being of women."
Assistance - In three years, Pró-Mulher Pará has already registered 14,000 general attendances related to cases of violence. During this period, 9,300 women were assisted with support, registration, and referral for protective measures. The program has also trained over 1,700 security agents and staff who work in the support network for women victims.
