The Pará Center for Hemotherapy and Hematology Foundation (Hemopa), in partnership with the State Secretariat for the Environment, Climate and Sustainability (Semas), held a blood donation campaign on Tuesday (19) in the Marco neighborhood of Belém. The action featured the presence of the mobile unit from the hemocenter and a room specially set up for attending to volunteers.

The initiative reinforces the State Government's commitment to public health and solidarity, encouraging employees, collaborators, and the community to contribute to maintaining blood stocks, which are essential for the care of the hospital network throughout Pará.

According to the social worker from Hemopa's Donor Recruitment Management, Vanessa Pimentel, the partnership with Semas strengthens the culture of donation. “We carry out, on average, one campaign per year at the secretariat, with the participation of employees. Our goal is to encourage repeat donations and ensure the regularity of blood stocks,” she highlighted.

For Semas social worker Rafaela do Reis Amaral da Costa, the mobilization of employees is driven by social commitment. “Donating blood is an act of solidarity, love, and responsibility. When we mobilize our employees, we know we are helping to supply the hemocenter while saving lives. In this campaign alone, the expectation is to receive up to 120 donations, with the participation of employees from the three units of the secretariat,” she emphasized.

Employee Luciana Borges participated in the campaign as a donor and highlighted the emotion of resuming the gesture. “I am very grateful to be able to contribute again because I know that this simple act can save many lives. It is a huge happiness to be part of this, and I hope more people feel motivated to donate,” she stated.
