Man arrested in flagrante in Belém for storing child pornography
His and other suspects' cell phones were seized and will be examined to support the investigation and fully clarify the facts

On the morning of this Tuesday, the 19th, the Civil Police of Pará, through the Division for Combating Crimes Against Vulnerable Groups Committed by Cyber Means (DCCV), launched the second phase of Operation "Predator" and arrested a man in flagrante for storing child pornography in the Condor neighborhood of Belém.
During the police action, which aims to combat crimes of abuse and sexual exploitation of children and adolescents committed via the internet, three search and seizure warrants were executed in the cities of Belém and Ananindeua.

“We seized the cell phones belonging to the suspects, and the material will be sent for technical-scientific examination to support the investigation and enable the complete clarification of the facts. In Belém, one of the individuals was arrested in flagrante at the moment we found child pornography content on his cell phone,” highlighted the operation's coordinator, delegate Géssica Araruna.
A vast amount of illicit material was found on the subject's mobile device, who confessed to consuming this type of content since 2023. He was taken to the police station, where he underwent standard procedures and is at the disposal of the Judiciary.

Predator
The name of the operation directly alludes to the behavior of the suspects, who act as consumers of this type of criminal content. “By consuming this type of illegal content, criminals feed and stimulate a chain of production, dissemination, and commercialization of images and videos of sexual violence against minors. The choice of the term used to name the operation reinforces the warning that each act of consumption perpetuates the cycle of abuse, generates new victims, and strengthens criminal networks that exploit children and adolescents,” concluded the delegate.

The first phase of Operation Predator took place in May 2025, in the city of Cuiabá/MT, at which time warrants were also executed against suspects residing in that municipality. Investigations continue, and new diligences are not ruled out as the analysis of the seized material progresses.
