Civil Police of Pará arrests man investigated for bodily injury against woman in Maranhão
Images of the assault were shared on social media. Police located the aggressor in the municipality of Açailândia.
The Civil Police of Pará, through the Tailândia Police Station, the Investigation Support Nucleus (NAI) of Tucuruí, and the Regional Superintendence of the Tucuruí Lake, in southeastern Pará, executed a preventive arrest warrant issued against a man investigated for bodily injury against his wife, committed in the presence of the couple's child. The images of the assault were shared online. The arrest took place this Friday (15), in the municipality of Açailândia (MA), with the support of the Military Police of Maranhão.
“We became aware of an episode of domestic violence through videos and images that began circulating on social media on the night of last Tuesday (12). Since then, the team from the Tailândia Police Station has been working to verify the authenticity of the assaults, the individuals involved, and the circumstances of the incident. The police went to the victim's residence, where it was possible to confirm the crime and identify the aggressor,” reported Delegate Erivaldo Campelo, head of the Regional Superintendence of the Tucuruí Lake.
As it was not a flagrant case, since the assaults occurred on August 3, the police authority requested the preventive arrest of the suspect from the 1st Court of Tailândia, which was granted. “From the investigations, the whereabouts of the aggressor, who fled to Maranhão, were discovered. The police requested operational support from the local PM and successfully executed the warrant,” added the delegate.
The arrested individual was taken to a police station in Maranhão, where he underwent the necessary procedures and is at the disposal of Justice.
