More than 900 security agents will operate at the 28th Pan-Amazonian Book and Multivoices Fair
The 28th edition of the Fair has the reinforcement of agents acting in the actions developed over the seven days of the event, on-site and in the surrounding area, to ensure the tranquility of all

To reinforce security and ensure public order, 910 agents are part of the security scheme for the actions during the 28th Pan-Amazonian Book and Multivoices Fair, held by the Government of Pará through the State Secretariat of Culture (Secult) from August 16 to 22, at Hangar - Amazon Convention and Fair Center, in Belém. The security actions are coordinated by the Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), in partnership with municipal security and traffic agencies in Belém.
The security actions include monitoring the cameras installed in the surrounding area and access roads to the Hangar; visible policing, traffic flow management, recording general occurrences at the police station set up at the fair, and also recording occurrences at the Women's Service Totem, which will be on-site ensuring access and speed in reporting occurrences and providing guidance to victims of domestic violence.
According to the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense, Ualame Machado, the previously coordinated planning among the security system agencies aims, above all, to ensure the tranquility of everyone working at the fair, the event visitors, and also the residents in the surrounding area, who during this period experience a higher flow of pedestrians and vehicles.
“Segup meets weeks before the event with all the agencies of the state security system and partners involved in the actions to carry out planning according to the already anticipated needs and also based on the evaluation of what was done the previous year, aiming to ensure that security and order are maintained in the area and surroundings of the fair. It is an event that takes place over seven days, with various programs, including shows, which attracts a large flow of people, so we reinforce the actions so that everyone enjoys and returns home safely. Therefore, we are acting with various actions, whether in traffic, monitoring cameras, with a police station for reporting occurrences, if necessary, and this year also includes a dedicated service to women in cases of domestic violence, allowing for the request of protective measures,” informed the head of Segup.
Actions and policing - The fair will feature a Women's Service Totem, to assist with demands related to crimes and violence against women, enabling the reporting of occurrences, the request for protective measures, and guidance, especially directed at victims.
On-site, a team from the Public Policy and Social Prevention Directorate (DPS) of Segup will also reinforce awareness actions in combating violence against women in reference to August Lilac.
The Integrated Operations Center (CIOp) will enhance the service and dispatch of calls to 190 and the monitoring of cameras installed on access roads and in the surrounding area of the Hangar due to the large public movement.
Visible policing will be carried out by the Military Police, with foot, mounted, and motorized patrols, to deter and inhibit criminal actions and ensure safety in the vicinity of the fair with the support of the Municipal Guard of Belém, on-site and in the surrounding area of the event. Agents from the State Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration (Seap) will also be conducting monitoring control actions in the event area.
The Civil Police will set up a police station at the Hangar to address demands that may arise on-site and to register occurrence reports. The PCPA will also reinforce the shifts at the police stations located near the Hangar, such as the Marco Police Station, which will operate from 8 AM to 6 PM, and the Urban Section of Sacramenta, which will have reinforced shifts from 6 PM to 8 AM, to assist in procedural cases.
Agents from the Military Fire Brigade will also be present with a rescue vehicle, rescue teams, and prevention and control activities in cases of emergencies and pre-hospital care.
Traffic flow - To ensure order in traffic flow, the State Traffic Department (Detran) in conjunction with the Municipal Secretariat of Security, Public Order, and Mobility of Belém (Segbel) and support from the Highway Police Battalion (BPRV) will carry out inspections and management on the access roads to the Hangar focusing on safety and traffic fluidity. Segbel will block the return in front of the parking lot located on Av. Brigadeiro Portásio.
Participating in the extensive scheme are agents from the Civil, Military, Penal, and Scientific Police, Military Fire Brigade, Detran, Municipal Secretariat of Security, Public Order, and Mobility of Belém, and the Municipal Guard of Belém.
