Cine Líbero Luxardo premieres reinterpretation of the classic 'Emmanuelle', global phenomenon from 1974, this Thursday, 14
The audience will still be able to enjoy another week of screenings of the films: 'Materialist Loves' by Oscar-nominated director Celine Song and the biopic of dancer Thiago Soares 'A Wolf Among Swans'.
The Cine Líbero Luxardo premieres the reinterpretation of the 1974 classic 'Emmanuelle' this Thursday, 14. In addition to the premiere, the contemporary drama 'Materialist Loves' and the biopic of world-renowned dancer Thiago Soares, 'A Wolf Among Swans', will also continue to be screened until next Thursday (20).

The global phenomenon of 1974, 'Emmanuelle', premieres on the screen of Cine Líbero Luxardo, in a reinterpretation by director Audrey Diwan, winner of the Golden Lion for 'The Event'. In the new version, the film offers a contemporary view of a classic that marked generations, now from the perspective of a director who addresses female desire with sensitivity, depth, and courage.

Audrey Diwan once again explores the complexities of a female protagonist, balancing eroticism, tension, and emotion with a sophisticated and visually engaging narrative. The new version of 'Emmanuelle' proposes a reflection on desire, power, autonomy, and intimacy, in a plot where each gesture and choice carries multiple meanings.
With an age rating of 18 years, the film follows young Emmanuelle, who travels alone to Hong Kong in search of reconnection with her body and desires. Amidst the sensual vibrancy of the city, she surrenders to unexpected encounters while finding herself increasingly drawn to Kei, a mysterious man who constantly eludes her control.
Double feature of 'A Wolf Among Swans' and 'Materialist Loves'
A crowd-pleaser in its first week of screening, 'A Wolf Among Swans' continues to be shown in the city's most charming theater. Narrating the inspiring journey of Thiago Soares, internationally acclaimed as one of Brazil's greatest dancers, the film portrays the impressive journey of the artist, who overcame the social and cultural barriers of his humble origins to become the principal dancer of the Royal Ballet of London.
Directed by Marcos Schechtman and Helena Varvak, the feature has stood out at major international festivals, such as the 27th Brazilian Film Festival in Paris and the 34th Cine Ceará, where it won the awards for Best Actor (Matheus Abreu), Best Supporting Actor (Darío Grandinetti), and Best Art Direction (Dina Salem Levy).

Meanwhile, 'Materialist Loves' is the new bet from acclaimed director Celine Song, nominated for an Oscar, Golden Globe, and BAFTA for 'Past Lives'. In the film, matchmaker Lucy (Dakota Johnson) meets Harry (Pedro Pascal), whom she sees as 'the ideal dream', but is shaken by an imperfect old love when she reunites with John (Chris Evans), her ex-boyfriend. After successfully arranging nine weddings, will Lucy's be next?
The film has been well received by critics and audiences, boasting a 79% approval rating on the review site Rotten Tomatoes. The film drew attention for its originality in the script - which avoids clichéd romantic comedies - and for the striking performances and chemistry between actors Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal.
