The Pará Economic Development Company (Codec), through the Investment Attraction Directorate, held on the afternoon of this Wednesday (13) the first meeting with representatives of Nicopel Embalagens, a Paraná-based company in the graphic sector, specialized in the production of boxes, jars, and cups for ice cream and açaí. The online meeting marked the beginning of negotiations for the installation of an industrial unit in Pará, which today represents a strategic market for the company.

Based in Londrina (PR), with about 200 employees, Nicopel serves companies of various sizes, including Polpa Norte, an important Pará-based industry of pulp and açaí derivatives. Currently, production is transported by trucks to the North, which increases logistical costs and extends delivery time. According to the company's representative, Mayara Moretti, the opening of a unit in Pará would bring more agility and competitiveness.

“We have an operation of 10,000 square meters, with modern machinery, and we serve important clients in the State. A base in Pará would reduce costs and improve service, especially for the açaí production chain,” she explained.

Guaranteed support - The director of Investment Attraction and Business at Codec, Manoel Ibiapina, emphasized that the packaging sector is strategic and lacking in Pará, reinforcing the importance of the investment. “Your idea of expanding here is excellent. Whatever the state government can do, through Codec, to facilitate this arrival will be done. We want to attract companies that add competitiveness and development,” said the manager.

The Investment Attraction manager at Codec, Sabrina Sena, highlighted that the State has tools to support the implementation. “We have all the technical information and necessary incentives for the company to see the advantages of establishing here. Codec is ready to provide all the support,” she assured.

The foreign trade manager at Codec, Eduardo Rodrigues, also participated in the meeting. New meetings should deepen the feasibility study and the definition of possible areas for the factory installation in Pará.
