Codec and Fadesp align strategic study for proposing a plan for the development of Cametá
The meeting discussed strategic demands of Cametá, aligned technical study with Fadesp, and included possible intervention for the municipality of Breves
The Pará Economic Development Company (Codec) received, on Tuesday (12), at the institution's headquarters, representatives from the Foundation for Research Support and Development (Fadesp) to address the strategic demands and needs of the municipality of Cametá. The meeting aimed to align data and technical information that will support a work proposal focused on diagnosing the local economic and social situation, including an assessment of infrastructure and regional logistics.
The meeting was led by Codec's Director of Strategy and Institutional Relations, Pádua Rodrigues, and the Manager of Development and Economic Studies, Aline Tavares. Participating from Fadesp were specialized consultants, Socorro Souza, Nilma Maneschy, and João Carlos Pena.
During the meeting, Codec presented data and studies about the territory of Cametá and its surroundings, developed by the Company as part of the institutional action to induce local economic development, allowing Fadesp to enhance the initial direction of the survey.
“Fadesp sought data and information from Codec in order to better direct the preparation of its work proposal for the municipality of Cametá. With the information provided by Codec, it was possible to refine the work, redefine technical premises, and stages to be developed. The region of Cametá and its surroundings are receiving important infrastructure interventions from the Government of Pará, and this moment requires attention to take advantage of and optimize this new condition to bring development and quality of life to the population of Marajó,” highlighted Pádua Rodrigues.
In addition to discussions about Cametá, the meeting also included conversations about an agenda focused on the municipality of Breves, which is in the process of implementing a State Industrial District in the region and, like Cametá, requires a technical study for strategic planning. The discussions included the participation of Fabrício Silva Costa, Director of Lands from the Breves City Hall.
This action is part of the work carried out by Codec in the municipalities under the Government of Pará's Multi-Year Plan (PPA). The program includes technical visits to identify bottlenecks, recommend solutions, and articulate partnerships that strengthen municipal management. When there is a need for broader and more structured planning, the Company recommends hiring specialized consulting. Fadesp is one of the institutions indicated by Codec and is recognized for its technical expertise, including participation in the preparation of the “Pará 2050” planning with the Planning and Administration Secretariat (Seplad).
The meeting also reinforces the continuity of Codec's actions in Cametá. In 2022, the municipality received the launch of the Investor's Guide, and in 2023, it hosted the Investment and Business Attraction Seminar, promoted by the Company, which mapped economic opportunities and strengthened dialogue with local entrepreneurs. Now, these initiatives gain depth with technical studies that can guide public policies and new investments.
