The Government of Pará, through the State Housing Company (Cohab), delivered 956 checks from the "Sua Casa" housing program to families in Ananindeua, in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, of which 711 are related to the first phase of the housing program and 211 from the second phase, whose resources allow for the completion of the work initiated with the first phase.

Through the program, the State grants, free of charge, up to R$ 21,000 for the construction, reconstruction, or expansion of properties and payment for the mason's labor.

Governor Helder Barbalho detailed that this is yet another important delivery for the families of Ananindeua who need the benefit, advancing the housing policy of the State Government "to look after those who need it most, to care for the people, to care for the population of Ananindeua, to combat the housing deficit, to look and identify families that need an improvement in their housing quality, someone who lives in a wooden house, without accessibility, without the condition of a sanitary bathroom, the simplest things that need housing, the Sua Casa program addresses."

With this delivery, the number of families benefited by the program in Ananindeua exceeds eleven thousand.

Helder Barbalho also highlighted the social and economic nature of the incentive to his Government's housing policy, "therefore, selecting these families allows, on one hand, to reduce the housing deficit, improving the housing units so that people can live with dignity and, also with these initiatives, we strengthen the economy, as we allow the resources to move the construction trade, and with the payment of labor, we stimulate the hiring of construction workers and thus, we strengthen the economy, from the perspective and attention to people through the housing policy developed by the State Government."

The delivery was attended by the Vice Governor Hana Ghassan. "We thank God for being the instrument of realizing your dreams, because when we take on a public office, it is precisely with this objective, to help those who need it most, to fulfill dreams and to be closer to the population," she pointed out.

The president of Cohab, Manoel Pioneiro, detailed that the Sua Casa housing program is concentrating efforts to replace wooden houses in precarious situations with masonry, "because we recognize that it is necessary to ensure that incidents do not occur, as we have been monitoring, since most of the houses that suffered fires in recent months were made of wood, and thus, we can ensure, in addition to improving the quality of life, the safety of families in Pará," he highlighted.

Sua Casa - The "Sua Casa" program was created by Governor Helder Barbalho in 2019. The program consists of granting two benefits, aimed at ensuring financial assistance for the acquisition of construction materials and payment for labor to improve the residences of families in vulnerable situations.

To receive the benefits, candidates must meet the criteria established by law. After registration, Cohab gradually selects, based on the order of priorities set out in the program's guidelines. As candidates are selected, the engineering team of the Company begins the evaluation and diagnosis process of the homes. The next phase consists of a socioeconomic analysis, conducted by the Social Assistance sector of the Company, to verify the real social condition of the candidates.

Cristiani do Socorro Furtado Gusmão, who is a cook, expressed her gratitude. "This is the first time I have received the benefit and I want to thank Governor Helder Barbalho very much for the opportunity to improve my house," she declared.

Maria Ferreira Pinto, a seamstress, shares that when she was called to receive the check, it was only joy. "I have no words, just to say thank you very much, may God give our vice governor good health so that she can continue helping the people, just as I am receiving help to build my house," she concluded.
