HRPL raises awareness about cholesterol
As a reference in cardiology, the Regional Public Hospital of the East (HRPL), in Paragominas, in southeastern Pará, offers medium and high complexity assistance to 23 municipalities in the Metropolitan Health Region III. As part of the educational actions promoted by the management, the unit carried out an activity aimed at users and companions in the receptions, providing guidance on cholesterol, a highlight topic in awareness campaigns throughout the month of August.
During the mobilization, last Thursday (7), professionals provided important guidance on prevention, risks, and care related to high cholesterol, a condition that can cause cardiovascular complications if not properly controlled. The activity was organized by the Humanization Commission (CH), in commemoration of the National Day for Combating Cholesterol, established in August.
“The National Day for Combating Cholesterol is an important date to reinforce the significance of preventing and controlling high cholesterol, promoting cardiovascular health and avoiding serious diseases,” said Rafaela Cecília, nurse at the Permanent Education Center (NEP).
Approval - Raimunda de Freitas, 60 years old, was one of the users who were positively surprised by the action. When she came to the hospital for an ultrasound, she received valuable guidance from professionals about cholesterol care.
“I have heard about the cholesterol campaign in the newspaper, but I didn’t pay much attention. Actions like this are important because there are people with poor habits, and it is necessary to know how to take better care of health,” emphasized Raimunda.
The initiative is part of the special actions carried out during the month in celebration of the 11 years of operation of HRPL, reinforcing the unit's commitment to promoting health, welcoming, and providing comprehensive care to the population.
