Emater delivers CAFs to riverside farmers in Belém
Document ensures access to public policies and rural credit for açaí and cocoa producers from the Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes Community
The Government of Pará, through the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company of the State of Pará (Emater-Pará), delivered 17 Family Agriculture Registrations (CAF) to açaí and cocoa producing families from the Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes Community, located along the banks of the Aurá River, in the capital of Pará, this Thursday (7).
The initiative strengthens the inclusion of riverside farmers in government programs aimed at promoting agricultural production, technical assistance, and access to rural credit. The demand was articulated by Emater offices in the municipalities of Belém and Ananindeua, benefiting residents of the Liberdade Avenue region.
Expanded access to public policies
The CAF is the main instrument for identifying family farmers and ensures access to federal public policies, such as the National Program for Strengthening Family Agriculture (Pronaf), in addition to initiatives aimed at improving production and marketing.
During the event, Emater technicians also guided the beneficiaries on the rights guaranteed by the document and the possibilities for financing and technical assistance.
“From now on, we will be able to work together with Emater, which will guide us and help improve our production and increase the quality of our products,” said farmer Jorge Santos.
For producer Raimunda Celeste, the document represents the opportunity to advance in agricultural activity with more preparation and conditions. “We have the land, but we didn’t know where to start. Now, with the CAF and the support of Emater, we will learn to manage better and produce with more quality,” she highlighted.
Continuous work for rural strengthening
According to rural extensionist Wanderley Ribas, each delivery of CAF represents a step forward in the technical assistance and rural extension work promoted by the state government.
“This moment is the result of our visits and fieldwork. We have already started rural credit actions and will continue with public policies that will strengthen the cocoa production chain, generating more income for these families,” pointed out the technician.
