The State Department of Education (Seduc) participated on August 1st and 2nd in the I Meeting of Some and Somei, organized by the Union of Workers in Public Education in the State of Pará (Sintepp). Held at the CCBEU auditorium in Belém, the event aimed to strengthen dialogue between the communities served and the managing bodies, bringing together educators, indigenous leaders, quilombolas, riverside dwellers, and representatives of rural education.

The Some (Modular Organization System of Teaching) and the Somei (Modular Organization System of Indigenous Teaching) are teaching modalities created to ensure access to high school in remote areas with sociocultural specificities, such as indigenous, quilombola, and rural communities. Seduc is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of these modalities in the state territory.

During the event, the Deputy Secretary of Management and Collaboration Regime of Seduc, Diego Maia, participated in discussion panels and presented the theme "CEMEP: The dimensions and impacts in the State of Pará." In his speech, he highlighted the importance of active listening and the collective construction of educational public policies.

"It is an honor to represent Seduc as an invited institution at the 1st Meeting of Some and Somei, organized by the leaders of the programs and by Sintepp. This event represents a valuable space for listening and collective construction, with broad participation from indigenous, quilombola, riverside, and rural education representatives — people who live in the territories and build public education every day. Seduc reaffirms its commitment to respectful dialogue and the joint search for solutions that ensure education with equity, diversity, and respect for the realities of each community in the Amazon of Pará," emphasized Diego Maia.

The meeting also aimed to strengthen public policies focused on education in contexts of vulnerability and cultural diversity. The program included the participation of representatives from civil society and various authorities. Seduc's presence at the event reaffirms the state management's commitment to inclusive education that respects the territorial and sociocultural specificities of the Pará population.
