Transamazon Hospital begins series of training in humanized care

To be a reference not only in care but also in welcoming. This is one of the missions of the Transamazon Regional Public Hospital (HRPT). Located in Altamira, southwest of Pará, the unit recently updated its patient and companion satisfaction data, maintaining over 99% approval, which guarantees the title of excellence, recognized by the National Accreditation Organization (ONA).

To maintain the high level of care, the hospital invests in the continuous training of its staff. HRPT has more than 20 internal committees, such as those for Humanization and Quality, in addition to the Permanent Education Center (NEP). These sectors are responsible for developing actions to improve services. One of the activities, held on the morning of Thursday, the 24th, was the workshop Leadership with Purpose, which brought together 40 employees responsible for different sectors of the hospital.

Carla Santiago, a nurse from NEP, explains that with investments in constant qualification, the hospital can better direct its services, benefiting both the user and the employee. “The goal is to qualify through courses, lectures, practical classes, and training.” Carla also points out that with continuous training “it is possible to encompass everyone from frontline employees to leadership.”

The effort and dedication are reciprocated by those seeking care, like Kellyane Rocha. The young woman has pulmonary neoplasia, a condition characterized by the abnormal growth of cells. The resident of Vitória do Xingu, a neighboring municipality to Altamira, discovered the disease at HRPT, where she receives treatment. “When I need to come to the hospital, I am well taken care of,” she praises.

In José Moura's opinion, upon arriving at the hospital, the user encounters “a very good experience, a good impression,” the farmer comments about the care he receives when he needs to undergo tests. Giselma Lima, José's companion, shares that the humanized attention offered at HRPT makes it so that “we leave here feeling better than we already are.”

The workshop on Thursday is the first in a series planned by the Transamazon Regional Hospital for the coming weeks. The administrative director, Fillipe Okada, explains that there will be “eight training sessions aimed at the qualification of all hospital leadership. The project encompasses our PDL (Leader Development Program).

The training sessions cover topics such as Leadership, Conflict Management, Communication, Active Listening, Feedback, Emotional Intelligence, People Management, Quality Management, among others.” The courses and lectures are developed by professionals in HR, psychology, and specialists in various fields.

Jéssica Alencar, an organizational psychologist from Human Resources, the department responsible for the first lecture, notes that the main objective of the project is to ensure that those in charge of a team enhance their leadership techniques, always focusing on the well-being of employees and mutual exchange between sectors. “Managing a team, often large, is difficult. We want to open minds aligned with our values, our mission, within the planning.”

“Having a prepared leader is a guarantee of being able to develop the team. We aim for managers to have an innovative vision, with efficient and effective perspectives when problems arise, so that things align within the institute,” she concludes.
