During a routine inspection on the PA-391 highway, in the municipality of Benevides, agents from the Department of Traffic of the State of Pará (Detran) recovered a motorcycle with a theft record. The approach took place on the afternoon of last Wednesday (23), in front of the agency's inspection post.

When checking the vehicle's data, traffic agent Samarthony Henrique found that there was an active theft alert. According to the driver's information, the motorcycle had been stolen in the municipality of Castanhal and later recovered in Bujarú, but the removal of the alert was not properly recorded in the system.

"Upon confirming the theft record, the driver and the motorcycle were immediately sent to the 18th Urban Police Station of Marituba, where a police report was filed and the case will be under the responsibility of the Civil Police," reported agent Samarthony Henrique.

This initiative is part of Detran's ongoing work of video monitoring and inspection at strategic points on state highways, reinforcing road safety and contributing to the fight against crimes such as receiving stolen goods and vehicle tampering.
