The Government of Pará continues to invest in strategies to support women victims of violence. This Wednesday (23), through the State Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), the Government delivered another self-service totem aimed at women, at the UsiPaz of Castanhal (Metropolitan Region of Belém). The municipality is the second in the State to receive the equipment, which assists in the service and registration of complaints from victims of domestic violence.

Upon delivering the equipment, Vice Governor Hana Ghassan highlighted the importance of the space for welcoming victims, contributing to the fight against the cycle of violence.

"This is another technology in favor of our women. We have already implemented the first totem at the Women's Hospital, and we also installed it at the UsiPaz of Terra Firme. Now we have arrived in Castanhal. Our goal is to extend this important protection equipment for women throughout the State, where they can be attended to in a room with total privacy and security, in addition to being welcomed and seeking what they need to end the cycle of violence they are in,” emphasized Hana Ghassan.

The State Secretary for Public Security and Social Defense, Ualame Machado, emphasized the benefits of the equipment that connects the victim to the Virtual Women's Police Station (Deam).

“This is another piece of equipment we are delivering, this time for the city of Castanhal, the first to receive it outside the State capital, and still within a UsiPaz, precisely so that this woman who is going through some type of violence can be assisted by a social worker, who will help in registering this occurrence through it, which is linked to the Virtual Women's Police Station. Through it, this woman can receive guidance, request protective measures, and, above all, report her aggressor, so that he can be punished,” said the head of Segup.

With a touch on the totem screen, the woman has access to the protection offered by the State

Virtual service - The totem offers self-service to women who are in situations of violence. Through the equipment, it is possible to access the Virtual Women's Police Station for incident reports, as well as a Call Center, from which the victim can receive guidance on requesting protective measures, service locations, and referrals to Specialized Women's Police Stations.

Martha Silva, social worker of the Civil Police of Pará, who works at UsiPaz Castanhal

The social worker who works at UsiPaz Castanhal, Martha Silva, highlighted the importance of the totem in the space, which can safely welcome women who are going through situations of violence.

“When I saw this equipment arrive at the Women's Hospital, we were already very happy and hopeful that it could arrive here as well, just like all the other Usinas in the State, because the embarrassment for a woman to go to a Police Station to make a complaint would make her refrain from registering this violence, and perhaps continue in this cycle. I believe that this device within the UsiPaz brings security closer to everyone, especially to women who are victims of domestic violence,” said Martha Silva.
