COMEX/PA promotes meeting to consolidate export culture in Pará
A committee led by Sedeme articulates strategies focused on strengthening productive sectors and inserting Pará products into the international market

The Foreign Trade Committee of Pará (COMEX/PA) held its 2nd Ordinary Meeting of 2025 on Tuesday (22), focusing on articulating strategies to consolidate the export culture in the State. The committee, composed of 16 institutions – 14 from the public sector and two from civil society – is chaired by the Secretariat of Economic Development, Mining and Energy (Sedeme).
During the meeting, led by the acting secretary of Sedeme, Carlos Ledo, along with the director of Industry, Commerce and Services Development (DDICS), Sharry Rodrigues, and the Market Coordinator, Michelle Abdon, guidelines aimed at increasing the insertion of Pará products in national and international markets were discussed.
Strategic alignment and joint initiatives
Among the main topics on the agenda were the alignment of information held by each institution for the preparation of a guiding document for the export pathway; the consolidation of logistical proposals with a systemic and multisectoral approach; and the approval of the minutes of the 1st Ordinary Meeting, held on June 4. The creation of a periodic digital newsletter to disseminate the actions carried out by the committee members was also defined, ensuring transparency and continuity of initiatives.

"This is a moment of collective construction, where dialogue between institutions enables advances in the formulation of structuring public policies aimed at strengthening economic development. The goal is to support the consolidation of the export culture in the State of Pará, as well as to boost productive sectors," said Carlos Ledo.
The director of DDICS/Sedeme, Sharry Rodrigues, emphasized the importance of COMEX/PA as a space for technical articulation. "These meetings are essential for analyzing the market potential of Pará products and identifying barriers that compromise the competitiveness of exports. From this, we can develop diagnostics and technical proposals collaboratively," she highlighted.
João Weyl, president of the Guamá Foundation, emphasized the relevance of institutional debate: "COMEX is an essential space for integrated decision-making. The dialogue between entities allows for evaluating results and facing challenges according to the guidelines and competencies of each member."
Institutional participation
In addition to Sedeme, the committee includes the State Secretariats of Agricultural Development and Fisheries (Sedap) and Science, Technology and Higher, Professional and Technological Education (Sectet); Pará Economic Development Company (Codec); Guamá Science and Technology Park (PCT Guamá); Amazon Foundation for Support to Studies and Research (Fapespa); Bank of the State of Pará (Banpará); Bank of Brazil; Post Office; State University of Pará (Uepa); Federal University of Pará (UFPA); Brazilian Service of Support to Micro and Small Enterprises (Sebrae); Brazilian Agency for Promotion of Exports and Investments (Apex-Brasil); Ministry of Economy; Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Pará (Faepa); and the Federation of Industries of the State of Pará (Fiepa), with its International Business Center (CIN/Fiepa).
