Outpatient Area of the Santa Casa Foundation performs over 80,000 services in the first half of 2025
Consultations, hospitalizations, surgeries, exams, and other services, essential for diagnosis and treatment, are offered to thousands of SUS patients

The Outpatient Complex of Santa Casa do Pará, in Belém, recorded 80,393 services in the first half of this year - 52,907 consultations and 27,486 outpatient procedures. The space includes outpatient clinics for Women, Pediatrics, Premature, Surgery, Liver, Clinical, and Cleft Lip and Palate. Among consultations, hospitalizations, surgeries, exams, and other services, thousands of users of the Unified Health System (SUS) are served monthly in the outpatient clinics and hospital areas of Santa Casa, referred by health institutions from the capital and the interior of the State, as well as from other states.
The centenary Santa Casa do Pará is a reference hospital, which has qualified multidisciplinary teams to provide humanized assistance to patients.

Jéssica Cristina, a resident of Mocajuba, a municipality in the northeast of the State, gave birth to her son Henrique in January of this year at the Santa Casa maternity ward. Since he was born prematurely, after medical discharge, the boy was referred to the Pediatrics Outpatient Clinic. “Today, he is 6 months old. Henrique was born underweight, and therefore Santa Casa will provide assistance for four years, with all the specialist doctors, speech therapists, physiotherapists. In short, all the professional support. He is my first child, and my expectation is to take care of him in the best possible way, with the support of Santa Casa,” says Jéssica.
Reference - Elineth Valente, coordinator of the Outpatient Complex of the Santa Casa Foundation, emphasizes that “the significant numbers of services provided in the outpatient clinics once again show the importance of Santa Casa for the health of the population in the region. A reference in quality of care and in the training of health professionals based on technical excellence and centered on humanization and quality care. Important and high-complexity specialties are available in 100% SUS assistance.”

The coordinator also highlights that “the outpatient care of Santa Casa has been in operation for over 40 years and grows quantitatively and qualitatively every year. It represents an excellent support for patients here in Pará and the North region, in some hard-to-access specialties.”
Reinforcement - The institution's laboratory is fundamental in supporting outpatient and hospital services. In the first half of 2025, it performed 476,856 laboratory tests, with 292,648 for the outpatient clinic; 137,311 tests for hospital admission services, and 46,897 for the Obstetric Emergency and Urgency area (UEO).
Larissa Mota Oliveira, laboratory coordinator, emphasizes that laboratory tests are essential to ensure safe care for users. “These tests provide direct support for clinical decision-making and the definition of therapeutic conduct. They are essential for the rapid and accurate diagnosis of acute and chronic clinical conditions. At Santa Casa, which has a complex care profile, with urgent care, emergency, high-risk obstetrics, ICU, and clinical and surgical specialties, this support is even more crucial,” she emphasizes.
“The tests contribute to the continuous monitoring of the patient's clinical evolution, being fundamental in tracking outcomes, therapeutic adjustments, and predicting complications. This ensures continuity of care from admission to hospital discharge,” informs Larissa Oliveira.
Norma Assunção, Technical Assistance Director of the Santa Casa Foundation, highlights that the institution prioritizes maternal and child care, with reference in Pará and other states. “We chose some time ago to work with accreditation, aiming for the quality and safety of our patients. The importance of working with safety and quality is experienced in the effort to seek patient experience. For us, it is essential that the family and the patient leave satisfied with what the institution offers,” reiterates the director.
