Polyclinic Lago de Tucuruí increases services in the first half of 2025
More than 218 thousand procedures were performed between January and June, surpassing the 200 thousand recorded in the same period last year
The Polyclinic Lago de Tucuruí, a unit of the Government of Pará managed by the Institute of Social and Environmental Health of the Amazon (ISSAA), recorded a significant increase in services in the first half of 2025. A total of 218,516 procedures were performed between January and June, surpassing the 200,904 counted in the same period of 2024.
The data reflects the strengthening of multiprofessional assistance and the unit's commitment to expanding access to specialized health care in southeastern Pará. Approximately 680 thousand services are offered annually at the unit, positively impacting the quality of life of residents in the seven municipalities covered by the Lago de Tucuruí region: Breu Branco, Goianésia do Pará, Itupiranga, Nova Ipixuna, Novo Repartimento, Tucuruí, and Jacundá.

Cassiane Rodrigues de Jesus found support at the Lago Polyclinic for follow-up in the specialty of otorhinolaryngology. A resident of Breu Branco, she said her experience with the doctors at the unit was excellent. "Now, we have a direction, and we can continue with the treatment. Health is fundamental for human beings," she stated.
Girane da Silva Franco, 43, also received a consultation in the first half of this year at the unit. During the evaluation with the mastologist, a possible nodule in the breast was detected. "I also had a mammogram at the Poli, and the service during the exams was great. The biopsy doctor paid a lot of attention to me. Everything I asked him, I got an answer. Excellent!" she reported.

Balance - Among the services that grew the most, laboratory tests stand out, which increased from 76,787 to 106,005 – a jump of over 38%. Non-medical consultations, such as appointments with psychologists, physiotherapists, and nutritionists, saw a 12% increase, reaching 7,573 records in 2025.
Medical consultations also showed slight growth, rising from 23,263 to 23,853. In the hemodialysis sector, essential for chronic kidney patients, the number of sessions increased from 4,027 to 4,175, reinforcing the strategic role of the Polyclinic in the continuous care of these users. Even with the increased demand, the hemodialysis care team maintained productivity, totaling 42,577 services.
In the Autism Spectrum Disorder Care Center (Natea), 11,274 services were performed in the first half of this year. The number reflects operational adjustments and redistribution of services according to the complexity of cases, reported hospital management.
The overall balance of the semester shows that the Polyclinic continues to be a regional reference in specialized exams and integrated therapies. "This growth reinforces the management's commitment to ensuring access to quality health care for the population of Tucuruí and the region. The Polyclinic is a modern unit, with a qualified team and structure prepared to provide efficient and welcoming care," evaluated Léia Sandim, executive director of the unit.

Profile - The Lago Polyclinic is capable of performing up to 9 thousand services per month. It has 33 outpatient hemodialysis chairs, two rooms for minor outpatient procedures, a room for colonoscopy and endoscopy exams, a room for magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, bone densitometry, X-ray, graphic methods (exercise test and electrocardiogram), ultrasound, and offices for outpatient care, as well as Natea.
In addition to specialized medical services, the Polyclinic performs minor procedures and various diagnostic tests, such as ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, and mammography, ensuring a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and treatment of various clinical conditions.
