The City Park opens, this Thursday (17), the Esplanada das Fontes, a new water space aimed at refreshing children. The attraction consists of several water jets. During a technical visit to the site, Governor Helder Barbalho and Vice Governor Hana Ghassan were able to test and evaluate the location, which underwent several safety tests. The City Park will be open to the public until the beginning of August. To access the wet area, each child must be accompanied by an adult over 18 years old or a legal guardian.

Governor Helder Barbalho interacted with the children present and emphasized the importance of safety rules in the new space. According to Barbalho, the equipment is intended for children up to 12 years old, who must wear swimwear to access the area.

"Everything is being carefully prepared to ensure the absolute safety of the little ones, allowing them to enjoy the space with tranquility and fun," he emphasized.

The Esplanada das Fontes features water slides, a slide with a pool of up to 50 cm deep, to ensure the safety of the little ones, water buckets shaped like palm trees, and mushroom-shaped showers make up the water complex. Five firefighters and two lifeguards are on site and take turns.

“The Esplanada das Águas is another stage delivered here at the City Park, a space specially designed for our children. Now, in addition to the other two playgrounds, we also have this wet park, the Esplanada das Fontes, so that children can enjoy moments of leisure and fun. We want a Belém with spaces for leisure, sports, culture, and community living, where families can enjoy life in a fraternal and safe way,” Ghassan emphasized.

The Vice Governor also reinforced that the space operates in two shifts: from 8 am to 11 am and from 2 pm to 6 pm, with free entry for children up to 12 years old.

Unique and fun experience

Willian and his wife brought their children to visit the City Park; the couple lives in Santa Isabel and took advantage of their day off to stroll through the new leisure space in the capital. The family praised the structure of the area.

“From the photos, we have a rough idea, but when you get here and see the landscape up close, it makes you feel like you are in other places. The quality of the materials used in the toys is excellent. The slide, for example, is all padded. If they fall, they won't get hurt. I loved it. I had never seen a park with this type of structure. It was well thought out,” the mother highlighted.

The couple also mentioned that their children were eager to play in the new attraction.

To access the location, it is necessary to follow the following usage rules

  • Only enter with appropriate swimwear;
