Mutirões do Programa Regulariza Pará promovem avanços na regularização ambiental em Prainha e Monte Alegre
In total, the action served 260 rural properties in Prainha and another 142 in Monte Alegre

The State Department of Environment, Climate and Sustainability (Semas), through the Regulariza Pará Program, held last week a community service event for the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR) in the municipalities of Prainha and Monte Alegre, West of Pará.
In Prainha, the action served 260 rural properties, benefiting 193 men and 77 women, covering an area of 26,667 hectares. A total of 165 Rural Environmental Registries were validated, regularizing 16,521 hectares. In Monte Alegre, 142 rural properties were served, benefiting 111 men and 32 women, impacting approximately 8,858 hectares, resulting in the immediate validation of 137 registrations that regularized 8,425 hectares.

“The community service event is a strategic action to accelerate environmental regularization in Pará, facilitating rural producers' access to essential public policies and ensuring the rural sustainability of our state. We are committed to providing technical support and strengthening partnerships with municipalities to expand the benefits of CAR and promote sustainable rural development for family farmers,” emphasized the Deputy Secretary of Management and Environmental Regularity of Semas, Rodolpho Zahluth Bastos.
The initiatives were supported by the Municipal Secretariats of Environment (SEMMA) of both municipalities, the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company (EMATER), local city halls, as well as other partners such as the Municipal Secretariat of Agriculture, Fisheries, Livestock and Supply (SEMAPPA) and the Monte Alegre Producers' Union (SINPRUMA).

João Gomes, a resident of Prainha, highlighted the importance of the community service event. "I am very happy with this community service event that the State government held to support our rural producers and farmers who are updating their registrations. It is important to follow the law to ensure that we can make the most of our work, take care of our home, family, and future, with the support and respect of the government," he said.
During the community service events, discussions were held on property rectifications, CAR validations, notifications from the Rural Environmental Registry System (SICAR/PA), and adherence to the Forest+ Amazon Project, which offers financial incentives to small rural producers through Payment for Environmental Services (PSA), benefiting family farmers at different stages of regularization.
Maximira Costa, Director of Geotechnologies at the Department of Environment, Climate and Sustainability, emphasized that the program aims at the environmental regularization of rural properties, benefiting both small and large producers. "Our main focus is the validation of CAR, which guarantees access to public policies, addresses environmental liabilities, and is the first step towards complete regularization. We rely on the collaboration of local secretariats, EMATER, and partners, and we hope to successfully complete many registrations. We also highlight the Forest+ program, which compensates farmers who preserve their forests, bringing environmental and financial benefits. Our goal with Regulariza Pará is to promote local sustainability and advance environmental regularization," she explained.
Cid Baia, the municipal secretary of Agriculture of Monte Alegre, reinforced the relevance of public policies. “Today, we are supporting a State government action in partnership with municipal agencies. Public policies are fundamental not only for our municipality but for the entire State and Brazil, as this is where we start the work of organization and environmental regularization. These foundations guarantee farmers access to government programs and projects. We are seeking solutions so that public policies effectively reach our municipality. For this, it is essential to be organized in environmental and documentary matters. We appreciate the presence of the State, which is fundamental for, together with municipal agencies, promoting public policies for the benefit of rural producers,” he stated.

Paulo Alves da Silva, a rural producer from Monte Alegre, also highlighted the benefits. “I came today to revalidate the CAR, a public service offered by the State government that is very important for us. Before, we had difficulties in carrying out this procedure, but with the government's help, everything became easier. It is essential that they continue bringing social services like this, so that we can be served in our city, without having to go to other municipalities. I am very happy with the service we received today,” he reinforced.
