Operation Summer combats sexual harassment and the use of cutting lines in Mosqueiro
The State Public Security System and the municipality also distribute identification bracelets to assist in cases of lost children

Within the "Operation Summer 2025", the Government of Pará has intensified efforts to increase the safety of the population during the month of July, the school vacation period, through the integrated action of state and municipal public security agencies. In Mosqueiro, in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, among the actions developed are prevention and awareness to curb the use of cutting lines, combat sexual harassment, and prevention to avoid lost children.
"Operation Summer is an integrated effort to ensure the safety and well-being of all vacationers. We are focused on preventive actions, such as supervision against cutting lines with cerol, which pose a danger to our youth. In addition, we are intensifying the fight against sexual harassment, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all. Guidance to parents and guardians, with the identification of children through bracelets, is a simple yet effective measure to prevent disappearance and ensure family peace of mind. Our goal is to provide a safe and pleasant summer for everyone, with the collaboration of each citizen," says the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense, Ualame Machado.

Teams from the Civil Police and the Directorate of Public Security Policies and Social Prevention (DPS) guided bathers and vacationers at Chapéu Virado beach. Artisan Marilene Souza, responsible for little Pedro Henrique, praised the action and received an identification bracelet with the child's name and the parents' contact number.
"This initiative of identifying children with bracelets is excellent, highlighting the importance of the safety that this measure provides both for the child and for us, the guardians," she said. In Mosqueiro since Friday, the 11th, she expressed satisfaction with public safety on the island and emphasized the importance of public security support for the population. "I am enjoying it, and for us who are always in Mosqueiro, it has been good to see this action from the State," she concluded.

'No Means No!' - The Civil Police with the Pink Vehicle distributed flyers for the campaign "No Means No!", reinforcing the fight against sexual harassment and violence against women.
Among the guidelines, the prohibition of cutting lines with cerol and Chilean lines also occurred in Mosqueiro. State Law No. 9,597/2022 prohibits the possession, manufacture, and sale of cutting lines with cerol (ground glass), Chilean lines, and similar items, regardless of the application of cerol.
Lines prepared both artisanally and industrially can cause injuries and serious harm, depending on the cut, and can even result in death. If irregular material is identified, security forces collect these materials. In addition to the risk of injury to people who come into contact with the line, power supply can be compromised if the lines reach the distribution network.
Operation Summer 2025, coordinated by the State Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense, in partnership with municipal agencies, mobilizes around 9,200 agents for integrated, ostensive, and preventive actions being developed in 50 locations across the State.
