The General Hospital of Tailândia (HGT), a reference in various medical and surgical specialties, closed the first half of the year with 371,586 procedures performed in its Emergency Room (PA) for Urgent and Emergency care. The data shows that the hospital unit executed almost 90 thousand more procedures compared to the same period last year, contributing to the restoration of health for the population of Tailândia and neighboring municipalities.

The HGT's care manager, nurse Milton Peixoto, highlighted the increase in the number of services provided, stating that the result "is the fruit of much work, commitment from the team, and actions aimed at strengthening health care for the population, as well as the recognition of the hospital as a reference in services for its humanized, quality, and effective care for its patients."

Among the main procedures performed in the PA in the first half of the year were dressings of different sizes, with 2,990 small dressings, 162 medium, and 29 large, in addition to 119 minor surgeries, 225 stitch removals, 873 plaster applications, and 154 plaster removals. The administration of medication also represented a significant volume, totaling 289,629 applications, accompanied by 77,405 other diverse procedures that contributed to the comprehensive care of the users attended.

Housewife Maria Lucia, 42, sought the department after feeling severe malaise and symptoms of a viral infection. "I arrived with my son feeling very unwell and was attended to quickly, and the doctor and the entire team were very attentive. He prescribed medication and guided me properly, and as soon as I took it, I started to feel better. I want to congratulate the entire team for their care for the people seeking assistance and for their attention," highlighted the user, who lives in the Jardim Liberdade neighborhood in Tailândia.

With a structure composed of three medical offices, three clinicians on duty 24 hours, and specialists for specific cases, the PA also has a red room, dressings, minor procedures, medication, and four observation rooms, two for adults and two pediatric. The services are provided both by spontaneous demand for urgent and emergency care and by referrals from Samu, the Military Fire Brigade, and the Highway Police. In the first half of this year, about 36,503 patients passed through the service.

In addition to the impressive numbers in services, the executive director of HGT, Eduardo Pereira, emphasized that the facility underwent several structural improvements in recent months, including renovation, painting, new lighting, and furniture renewal. New common areas were also implemented in front of the department, intended for patients and companions waiting after the services.

"These changes were planned to ensure an even more welcoming, organized, and safe environment. Our goal is for those who seek our hospital to feel well cared for in all aspects, from technical care to comfort while waiting," stated the manager.

HGT has 51 beds and maintains an Intermediate Care Unit (UCI) with nine beds, six for adults and three for pediatrics. Users who depend on the Unified Health System (SUS) have access to the services offered by HGT through the Municipal Regulation Center, and to urgent and emergency services on a free demand basis or referred by Samu, the Military Fire Brigade, and the Highway Police.
