Fun summer is safe summer. With this premise, the State Traffic Department (Detran) is present in the main destinations of July to guide vacationers on preserving life in traffic. Among the municipalities assisted by Detran's education teams in this year's Summer Operation, Bragança, in the Salgado region, and the surrounding cities of the Alça Viária, such as Barcarena, Abaetetuba, and Moju, are receiving educational guidance from the agency.

In Bragança, in northeastern Pará, the education agents focus their actions on PA-458 and the roads with the highest traffic of vehicles and people. On Thursday, the 10th, educational approaches were carried out focusing on promoting safe mobility and raising awareness about safe behavior in traffic. The action aimed to sensitize drivers and passengers about the importance of road safety, reinforcing education as an essential pillar for reducing accidents during the summer period.

The team provided guidance on the main risk factors on the roads and distributed "lixocar". The sustainable vehicle trash bins should be used for the correct disposal of waste in cars, reinforcing the importance of cleanliness and organization of the roads. The initiative emphasizes the importance of environmental preservation and maintaining urban cleanliness.

The work also includes guidance at pedestrian crossings in the municipality with the aim of raising awareness and assisting the most vulnerable in crossing. The actions take place in partnership with the Municipal Traffic Department and will also occur on the highway leading to Ajuruteua beach.

“Our goal is to guide drivers and pedestrians about the importance of having fun without putting life at risk in traffic and to remind that, for this, it is necessary to have care and awareness that safety on the roads depends on all of us,” explains Detran's education coordinator, Carlos Valente.

In the municipalities of Alça Viária, the approaches inform about the prohibition of vehicle circulation on the sand of the beaches on weekends, in addition to guidance on the safety of everyone in the beach perimeters, resorts, and even in leisure areas.

In Moju, actions have already taken place on the roads, especially on the road leading to the Levi resort. In Abaetetuba, agents have already been at the city entrance and at Beja beach. In Barcarena, drivers arriving to spend their holidays in the city or at the beaches of the municipality are also welcomed by Detran's education team.

So far, more than 1,100 people have been guided, including motorcyclists, drivers, and pedestrians. The main objective of the measure is to ensure the safety of drivers, bathers, and pedestrians, especially given the intense flow of people during this period.

During the initiative, drivers and passengers also received guidance on the main risk factors in traffic, as a way to promote awareness for safer traffic and greater respect for life. In addition, graphic and serigraphic materials with educational messages were distributed, reinforcing the content of the approaches.

This weekend, Detran's education teams will intensify actions in Barcarena, which is expected to have the highest movement since the beginning of the Summer Operation. This Saturday (11), the approaches will take place at Caripi beach, from 9 am to 12 pm. On Sunday, the action will also be in the morning at the crossing pier to Trambioca beach. The activities are supported by the Municipal Traffic Department of Barcarena (Demutran).
