Pará is being considered to host a bamboo industry aimed at the national market and export
B.Eso Bamboo presents a sustainable project with support from Codec and Apex Brasil

The Pará Economic Development Company (Codec) participated, on the morning of this Wednesday (9), in an online meeting organized with Apex Brasil to present the potential of the State to the company B.Eso Bamboo, which is studying the establishment of a bamboo processing industry in Brazil. The meeting was exploratory in nature and aimed to detail the logistical, fiscal, and structural conditions that Pará offers for sustainable forest-based industrial enterprises.
The project under evaluation foresees the utilization of natural bamboo reserves located in Acre and Rondônia, with river transport to Pará, where the industrial plant responsible for processing the input would be installed. The processed bamboo will be destined for both the Brazilian domestic market — especially for the construction and furniture sectors — and for export, through cabotage.
During the meeting, the Director of Investment Attraction at Codec, Manoel Ibiapina, reinforced Pará's strategic role as a logistical and industrial center of the Amazon.
“Pará has important logistical and fiscal advantages, with areas close to ports, state incentives, and a business environment prepared to attract sustainable investments. We put Codec at your disposal to support all stages of the project, from land surveying to environmental licensing and institutional arrangements,” highlighted Ibiapina.
Apex Brasil also emphasized the choice of the State. “Apex Brasil has been holding a series of meetings aimed at bringing international investors closer to the States that best meet their needs. In the case of B.Eso Bamboo, as there is a strong interest in river logistics and integration with the Amazon, Pará emerged as a strategic choice. Codec was recommended precisely for its capacity for institutional articulation and alignment with the sustainable investment agenda,” said Pedro Henrique de Souza Netto, representative of Apex Brasil in the Northern Region.
The representative of B.Eso Bamboo, Tobias Metzger, positively evaluated the institutional articulation and the opportunities presented during the meeting. “Today's meeting was quite productive. Codec demonstrated a series of initiatives and support methods that significantly enhance our chances of success. I am optimistic, as the logistics in Pará offer strategic access to the Atlantic Ocean, facilitating export to Europe, in addition to favoring internal transport between Brazilian cities. We consider the State of Pará a viable and very strategic option for the implementation of the project,” he stated.

Among the benefits presented are state tax incentives, which can guarantee ICMS exemptions between 40% and 95%, in addition to the possibility of installation in areas with port infrastructure and Codec's support for environmental and land regularization. The Company also monitors enterprises with financial institutions and acts as a facilitator with municipalities, autarchies, and state government agencies.
Ibiapina also highlighted that the Marajó Archipelago has favorable conditions for the establishment of enterprises, with availability of industrial areas, total ICMS exemption, a reduction of up to 30% in electricity costs, and already consolidated energy infrastructure in several municipalities.
Participating in the meeting were the Director of the Investment Attraction Directorate of Codec (Dain), Manoel Ibiapina; the Foreign Trade Manager of Codec, Eduardo Rodrigues; and the representatives of Apex Brasil, Pedro Henrique de Souza Netto from the Northern Region, and Guilherme Machado, an investment attraction specialist for agribusiness.
The initiative reinforces the commitment of the Government of Pará to promote sustainable development through attracting investments that enhance natural resources, generate jobs and income, and strengthen productive chains based on bioeconomy. With a strategic location, integrated infrastructure, and public policies aimed at green industrialization, Pará consolidates itself as a competitive destination for sustainable and innovative businesses in the Amazon.
