The action was carried out by the 10th Battalion of the Military Police of Pará (10th BPM), a unit subordinate to the Capital Police Command II

Military police from the 10th Battalion of the Military Police of Pará (10th BPM), a unit subordinate to the Capital Police Command II (CPC II), seized a 5.56 caliber rifle, magazines, and ammunition on the morning of Monday (7), during an operation in a forest area in the Paracuri II neighborhood, in Belém. The action took place after an anonymous tip about the presence of armed men involved in drug trafficking in the area known as "Cobrolândia."
The PM team went to the location, considered difficult to access, where the military disembarked and advanced on foot through the forest area. During the movement, the police saw armed individuals who fired shots at the troops, resulting in a confrontation. No police officers were injured, and the suspects managed to escape into the forest.
During the search, the military found a DPMS Panther Arms A-15 model rifle, with registration number F094071K, as well as 27 rounds of ammunition and three magazines, two of which were unloaded, hidden inside a backpack.

Material was presented at the Icoaraci Sectional
"The seizure of this weaponry demonstrates the importance of the continuous presence of the Military Police in the sensitive areas of the city. Our police acted with courage and professionalism in the face of a high-risk situation. We remain steadfast in the fight against organized crime and the circulation of war weapons in the hands of criminals," emphasized Lieutenant Colonel Jerônimo, commander of the 10th BPM.
The Military Police emphasizes that the participation of the population is essential for the success of police actions. Information and reports can be passed anonymously through the phones 181 (Disque-Denúncia) or 190 (Police Emergency). Community collaboration is essential for building increasingly effective public security.
