Secretary of Finance (Sefa) seizes backhoe and 30 tons of fish
Seizures occurred in the municipalities of Cachoeira do Piriá and Dom Eliseu

State revenue inspectors from the State Department of Finance (Sefa), from the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Gurupi, in Cachoeira do Piriá, northeastern Pará, seized a new backhoe worth R$ 345,000 on Sunday (6).
“The flatbed vehicle presented an invoice for the sale of a new backhoe, originating from a company in Breves (in Marajó) and destined for a private individual in São José de Ribamar (in Maranhão), as a sale of fixed assets. Among the activities of the sending company, there is no activity of selling equipment, a fact that raised suspicion among the inspection staff. The waterway transport document was requested to confirm that the machine was coming from Breves, but the driver did not have it. He presented a rental contract for the equipment, which led the inspection to disregard the operation, as there is no logic in selling equipment and, at the same time, having a rental contract for the same between the same companies. The operation was considered an attempt to evade inspection to avoid paying the tax,” commented the coordinator of the tax unit, Gustavo Bozola.
The backhoe was retained and a Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was drawn up for a total value of R$ 74,520.00.

Itinga – In the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Itinga, in Dom Eliseu, northeastern Pará, 30 thousand kg of frozen fish, valued at R$ 264,000.00, originating from Benevides and destined for Contagem/MG, were seized. The seizure occurred on Sunday (6).
“Although the taxpayer presented an invoice of origin from the state of Amazonas, it was confirmed that the load left the state of Pará, not transiting at any moment through the state of Amazonas. A Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was drawn up for the amount of R$ 57,024.00 regarding the ICMS and fine,” informed the coordinator Rafael Brasil.
