Since Friday (4), teams from the Vulnerable Groups Service Directorate (DAV) of the Civil Police have been carrying out preventive actions in the district of Mosqueiro, in Belém, as part of Operation Summer 2025.

The initiative, which continues until this Sunday (6), focuses on raising awareness about violence against women, especially cases of sexual harassment, which tend to increase during the holiday season and periods of high tourist flow.

During the three days of mobilization, the DAV team has been active in bars, shops, and high-traffic areas, posting informative posters containing QR Codes that direct directly to the Specialized Police Station for Women's Assistance Virtual (DEAM Virtual). This tool allows women in vulnerable situations to report virtually and receive specialized assistance.

In addition to the informational material, direct guidance is provided to residents and tourists, aiming to clarify what constitutes sexual harassment, what actions constitute a crime, and how to report it.

The action reinforces the importance of active participation from the population in combating gender violence.

“The presence of the Civil Police in tourist areas during the summer season is essential to ensure a safe environment for everyone, especially for women, who are often victims of invisible violence. We want them to know that they are not alone and that they have accessible support channels,” emphasizes Delegate Emanuela Amorim, director of the DAV.

Actions during the summer season – Throughout the Summer Operation, the Civil Police will have two DAV teams operating simultaneously on weekends, one in Salinópolis and another in Mosqueiro. Both will be with the Pink Vehicle, promoting the Virtual DEAM through the posting of posters with QR Codes, in addition to distributing flyers for the campaign “No Means No!”, reinforcing the fight against sexual harassment and violence against women.

Operation Summer – Operation Summer is coordinated by the State Public Security Secretariat and aims to ensure public order, prevent crimes, and protect vulnerable groups during the high season in Pará's seaside resorts.
