On Wednesday (03), the Amazon Bioeconomy and Innovation Park, located at Porto Futuro II in Belém, received representatives from various sectors related to sustainability and the green economy. The activity was part of the second day of the "Sustainable Route - Amazon: Territory of COP30," organized by the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS), and included participation from the State Secretariat for the Environment, Climate, and Sustainability (Semas), which manages the site.

The visit to the space was coordinated by the Deputy Secretary of Bioeconomy at Semas, Camille Bemerguy, and aimed to present the park's project, which will serve as a center for collaboration between science, startup economy, and traditional communities, focused on fostering an innovative environment and promoting the scalability of bioeconomic solutions.

During the event, Camille emphasized that "the Amazon Bioeconomy and Innovation Park is a concrete response from Pará to the climate urgency and the commitment to a just transition. Our goal is to show that it is possible to align economic development with environmental preservation, valuing local knowledge and promoting productive inclusion. Bioeconomy is one of the great opportunities for the Amazon, and we want this space to become a symbol of cooperation between science, communities, and the productive sector."

The Park is being structured to bring together, in one place, entrepreneurial initiatives, scientific research, and products from the Amazon bioeconomy, focusing on sustainable development and income generation for the region's peoples. The proposal is for the location to function as a permanent showcase of innovative Amazon, promoting connections between investors, researchers, governments, and traditional populations.

During the visit, participants learned about the architectural proposal of the space and the thematic axes that will guide the Park's operations.

Marina Grossi, president of CEBDS and private sector envoy to COP30, explained that "it is different to talk about the forest from inside an office and to experience it on-site — here, we perceive a rich ecosystem, with initiatives that do not always seek scale, but rather balance with nature. This reality demands a different logic from traditional industry. The forest has immense cultural, scientific, and economic wealth — there is still much to be discovered in areas such as pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, for example. Visiting the Amazon Bioeconomy and Innovation Park, which will be ready by COP30, showcases a project with correct principles, connected with local diversity and focused on the integration of science, technology, socioeconomic development, and the valorization of communities."
