Number of unlicensed vehicles grows by almost 30% in Pará and Detran warns of expirations in July
Payment must be made within the deadline set in the 2025 calendar
The Department of Transit of the State of Pará (Detran) issued a warning about the significant increase in the number of vehicles circulating without proper licensing. In 2024, the state recorded 1,419,636 vehicles in an irregular situation. In 2025, this number rose to 1,449,285, an increase of almost 30% in the unlicensed fleet.
In light of this scenario, the agency emphasizes the importance of owners being attentive to the expiration dates of the annual licensing. This month of July, vehicles with license plates ending in 06, 16, 26, 36, 46, 56, 66, 75, 85, and 95 must regularize their situation, according to the calendar established for 2025.
Licensing is a mandatory tax that proves the vehicle's regularity and ensures its legal circulation on public roads. To make the payment, the driver must access the Detran website, click on the “Vehicles – Annual Licensing” tab, and provide the requested information (license plate, Renavam, and owner's CPF) to generate the State Collection Document (DAE).
Payment can be made at affiliated banks – Banco do Brasil, Banpará, Banco da Amazônia, Bradesco, Itaú, and Santander – until the due date. It is also possible to obtain the DAE in person at the Detran headquarters, at advanced service points, or at the Regional Transit Circumscriptions (Ciretrans).
Owners with debts from previous years can regularize their situation through installment payments on a credit card. The release of the licensing only occurs after the total settlement of debts linked to the vehicle, including possible fines from other agencies. “Therefore, it is essential that the driver checks for any pending issues before the expiration,” advises Enrique Barbosa, coordinator of Vehicle Registration at Detran.
After payment, the Electronic Vehicle Registration and Licensing Certificate (CRLV-e) is available for download on the Detran website and in the Digital Transit Wallet app.
Infractions and penalties - Detran emphasizes that driving with expired licensing constitutes a serious infraction, with fines, loss of points on the driver's license, and the possibility of vehicle retention. “Our goal is to ensure safer and more regulated traffic. The increase in the number of irregular vehicles raises a warning about the importance of keeping documentation up to date,” concludes Enrique.
