The Jean Bitar Hospital (HJB), in Belém, continued the INDSH Program: Inspiring Guidelines for Safety and Humanization with the campaign "Incident Notification: A Pillar of Patient Safety" on June 25, 26, 27, and 30. The initiative reinforces the institutional commitment to care quality and the promotion of a safer and more efficient care environment.

The campaign, organized by the Patient Quality and Safety Center, aimed to encourage a culture of notification among employees, clinical staff, outsourced workers, patients, and families. The proposal is to identify and communicate, early on, errors, near misses, and adverse events, enabling cause analysis and the implementation of improvement actions.

During the week, educational activities were held in various sectors of the hospital, with the support of the Humanization Working Group (GTH), with on-site approaches and lectures in the auditorium, involving assistance and management professionals. The action aimed to engage professionals to take active responsibility for their actions and those of their teams, promoting greater vigilance in care processes.

"The notification of incidents, according to the campaign material, does not seek to blame individuals, but rather to improve processes. The central idea is that patient safety is in everyone's hands and that by notifying, each person contributes to safer care," said the coordinator of the NQSP, Erica Borges.

The campaign received support from the National Institute for Social and Human Development (INDSH) and the Brazilian Institute for Patient Safety (IBSP), reaffirming HJB's commitment to health practices based on quality, responsibility, and humanization.

"Here at HJB, the care is very good, they are very attentive, and we also have security. And now with this space, if something happens, we can report it for correction, which is also very important. It is very humanized care," said patient Valéria Moraes, 33 years old, kitchen assistant, who lives in the Outeiro district, Metropolitan region of Belém.

On June 26, HJB held the training "Medical Residency & Preventive Medical Law" in its auditorium, conducted by executive director Giovani Merenda. The event addressed fundamental topics such as informed consent, record-keeping in medical records, and the legal responsibilities of the medical resident. According to the hospital administrator, focusing on patient safety, the initiative reinforces the institutional preventive policy and care quality. "The training reinforces the importance of rigorous documentation and legal alignment in medical practice," concluded the director.
